Well he did say 118-120 quarter, I hope I get a chance to drive one at the track. Im sure I can run 11.40 if it has drag tires.

Btw this is an extension of the motortrend review. ignition is a sister reviewer of motortrend.
Bring on the 2012 GT500SVTPP, for crying out loud.

Actually, he was using Mode 4

Man I would love to drive one of these babies. Chevy can you gift me one please?

GearBangr 02-06-2012 02:39 PM

Awesome. Nice driving finally.
I can't wait to see how it respons to mods.
LSA is making what? 8 lbs of boost on the 1900tvs?
DRs, exhaust, intake, tune should be knocking on high 10s.
Even before turning up the boost.
The 2300tvs on the 13gt500 is already at 15 psi correct?

sed34 02-06-2012 02:46 PM

man, i love this car!!! I knew it had 3s capability, but its spectacular that a novice can achieve 4s 0-60 times. technology is great. downloading now!!!

I say it again...I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Yes - about 9 psi, last I read, through that 1900 :) I say crank that thing to 15 psi with those mods' and see where it goes :D

I believe you are correct on the GT500, too ;)

Quick question if anybody knows:

The guy said run RPM's to around 2k and drop the clutch and he pulled a 3.8 sec 0-60mph. Does anybody know if he did the "NO LIFT" shift on that run or is that only available when you use LAUNCH CONTROL at the start?

I don't know that it matters in any mode (i.e. I think it applies that feature 100% of the time - manual only, obviously ;)). I haven't read or heard anything otherwise from GM... Of course - I still have lots' of technical questions I'd like to ask GM if I could :)

He definately didn't lift :headbang::respekt::tweetz::burnrubber:

What needs to be considered here is the efficiency of each blower. The 1.9L will have about 6psi without a port to max its efficiency. The 2.3L is about 5psi before it reaches its max. Dont get too wrapped up in boost pressure, it is simply a measurement of restriction.

About time you guys get to see the kind of review you deserve. That mid 12 garbage and 13.0 garbage was even making me sick to my stomach, and I'm not even a Camaro guy. I was tired of hearing everyone bash the car for something it hadn't even been given the proper opportunity to do.

I will admit I dislike the fact that they 'correct' numbers, and even even give you a real 0-60 or 1/4 time/trap, but clearly a great driver will have that car into the high 11's 100% stock on a prepped track.

In my own opinion, I'd give it somewhere around 2-3/10ths better than the best GT500 time (which I believe is 12.1 or 12.2)

Very civil response. Respect!
