Just got my stripes painted.
For those looking to get stripes painted, here's an option.
I just got my stripes painted at Fisher's Paint and Body in Norman. I did have to take it back to get some swirls buffed out, but in their defense, they did have it while it was dark and rainy. (It took them less than 20 minutes to buff out the swirls). Other than taking it back once, I'm extremely pleased with their work. Oh yeah, I guess when they wet buff/sand, it gets this whitish stuff EVERYWHERE. They got most of it, but I'm kind of particular. It took me about an hour to get all that "white" stuff cleaned from all the cracks and crevises. It cost $906. It also cost me $30 to have a sign company make the stickers to get the lettering on the cowl. I had them put the letters on, then they painted GM's Carbon Metalic Black stripes. They then pulled the stickers off to let the RJT show through making the lettering. There's probably a few things I'd do different if I had to do it again. If you want more info, feel free to PM me I'll be glad to give you my two cents. Very nice. How long did they keep your car?

They would have had it ready probably Wednessday, but they were shipped a white "SS" for the trunk lid and mine is red. They have to remove it as well as the bowtie on trunk lid because they clear coat the entire lid. I hope this helps. Keep in mind too. When I got it back, there was white stuff (sanded clear coat) everywhere. (It seems like I'm still finding it.) Additionally, I found a couple of spots on each rear quarter panels that were "dull" as though they had spilled something on it (down low behind the rear wheels). I used some "oops" to remove it and Meguires cleaner wax and it buffed right out. I'm sure I could have taken it back to them, but I didn't want to give it up again. They did a beautiful job on the stripes, but they didn't do to good at cleaning her up. Just be prepared for that. I enjoy cleaning the car, so it wasn't that big of deal to me, but it might bother some. |
:thumbsup:looks good.
