Good news is I've got the car accelerating faster than before in 90+ degree weather. I also have the 3-4 shift issue fixed. Bad news is I can't test my 2-3 shift because I have ZERO traction. I can give it a little gas in 2nd gear and it kicks the tires out. My testing in 4th gear also shows a huge acceleration gain, so I should trap in the 120's this time, hopefully mid 120's.

For the engine, more boost but I'm completely out of fuel, 28 GPH of meth can't keep up.

For the transmission, changing the time when the turbine spins up to match the input. Since it takes longer now with extra pressure it was messing up the sequence of events. I still have to work on 1-2 and 2-3, but 3-4 is smooth now. Unfortunately with the amount of pressure I'm running, this car shifts hard, it rocks the suspension around.

You wont be too far off the guy that had the Caddy that was on the forum last year running 11.6's.

I added half a degree of timing and the 3-4 shift flared again, so it is right at the edge of the power it can handle. But I did hit 3.08 seconds to get from 65 mph to 95 mph, getting closer to the goal. Also found a spot to test 2nd gear even with my worn out tires, it is a lot faster till it tries to shift, starts really messing up. Need to get that gear fixed.

Did you disable 4th gear WOT converter lockup?

4th commands lock at 79 MPH, but that is before the shift just saying it should lock after the shift is complete. 3rd gear commands lock at 70 mph, completes at 80 mph. During the shift the converter unlocks, slips over 500 RPM, then relocks. I have the shift lock setting disabled, heard that can destroy a transmission.

It's slipping on the prep work for the shift, not during the shift itself. While C3 clutch is filling and C2 is releasing, it slips on 3-4. If I can't get it to work right I can always dump boost at 7000 RPM, shift, then re-engage boost. The methanol controller I have now is extremely helpful in getting stuff setup. If I ever want to, I can have it engage the pump with a switch and setup a line to spray my intercooler down before a run.

Just for fun, my Mustang 5.0 in 2nd gear accelerates at the same rate as my Camaro V6 in 3rd gear. 2nd gear in the 5.0 is 2.34 ratio with a 3.15 rear-end, so a 7.371 multiplier. The Camaro is 1.55 with a 3.91 ratio, a 6.060 multiplier. The Camaro is also several hundred pounds heavier. My acceleration is flat, 0.1 seconds per mph in 3rd gear, 0.14 seconds per mph in 4th.

This 6-rib pulley is no longer working, once the belt gets warmed up it starts slipping during a pull. First pull I get 16 PSI of boost, send pull 10 minutes later, 13 PSI and then goes lower. I think it might be the actual crank pulley slipping too. I'm trying to put a Gates belt on since they are not supposed to stretch as badly as the Goodyears. The belt is going to get warmed up waiting in the staging lanes, so this has to get fixed.

What size polley is on supercharger?

MagnumForceGB 09-12-2016 03:50 PM

2.95" with sur-grip, slipped on the 3.125" also. Last good pulley was the 3.33" and I went 11.8 with that one. The more I look at moving the supercharger forward, the more expensive it gets since the coolant hose is right there. Lowering the engine might help, but having everything on one belt is hurting.

I just need the belt to hold one time at the track.

not sure what shape your tentioner is in i just replaced mine with a gates they use a round spring instead of a flat spring its patented and is supposed to work alot better.. i gonna try the 3.25 and hopefully it dont slip my tentioner mark are all the way on the good side

Magnum, what are your thoughts on 3.91's for a manual supercharged car, that is also a DD?

The car N/A has a super short 1st and 2nd gear, and am shifting out of 3rd near the end of the 8th as it is. Tons of fun to drive...but not sure its "right".

Was looking at going to a 3.45.....thoughts?

tlavoie87 09-13-2016 10:17 AM

I got 3.45s with my auto and I like it not sure about the manuals they are geared different
