L99 w/ American Racing Headers & Tune...I got your 0-60 right here.

ORIGINAL DYNOS on these mods:

I did this tonight...still pretty hot and humid, but just to show you guys having trouble how much 2 small mods will help...
ARH headers and my man Bluecat on the tune...

This car is no factory freak, its just an average L99, that didn't run that great before...not that its a speed freak now, its just MUCH improved.
Even my wife (who was coming from our BMW 335i) said the camaro was SLOW before...she admits its faster now.

All I did was brake it to 1000rpm and floor it, sorry if the camera shook some, it does pull alot better now.

Anyone on the fence about American Racing Headers with a Dyno tune...you need to get off it and do it, especially you L99 guys, it will make a Night and Day difference in your car. When Bluecat was wrapping up the tune, he said,"This sure doesn't feel like a car that runs 13.9 now."

Its in another thread, but ~350 rwhp/370rwtq...gained 42rwhp/42rwtq at peak with ARH/tune.

Yes, stock mufflers...sounds pretty mean at WOT, but quiet as a mouse when cruising.

I went the other way around... with Corsa Catback... I heard both headers and catback would be very loud. One or the other to keep it quiet until you get on it. Pretty happy with my setup too. Waiting just a bit on the tune, but have Hennessey CAI also.

I'm going to hit the track one more time and then do the tune...

how much was headers and tune?

ChevyMuscle 06-27-2009 10:34 PM

Very nice! Even heard a little tire scratch I think...

Headers are just under a grand and tunes in the 300 - 400 range

novajess1972 06-27-2009 10:39 PM

Is the tune gonna affect warranty?

Yep... that's why I went with Catback and CAI for now. I'll be doing Super Charger when I'm ready to lose the warranty.

Do you want to get out run by mustangs, challengers and 370Z's? I'm a little stupid some times, but I guess to me, beating mustangs challengers etc is more important than warranty...but I'm a redneck from KY:iono:
