Canadian & American Pricing Estimates

As I work in the Oshawa area and deal with many GM factory workers ( well at least until the car plant closes too! :help:) that will be building the Camaro. I've been asking if anyone has heard about the pricing for these Camaros. The general rumour is as follows:

Base LS Coupe = $ 26,000 CAN ... $ 23,000 US
Base LS Convertible = Not due till Spring 2010 expect to pay $ 7,000 over Coupe SRP.

Base LT Coupe = $ 30,000 CAN ... $ 27,000 US
Base LT Convertible = Not due till Spring 2010 expect to pay $ 7,000 over Coupe SRP.

Base SS Coupe = $ 39,000 CAN ... $ 33,000 US
Base SS Convertible =Not due till Spring 2010 expect to pay $ 7,000 over Coupe SRP.

*** Please keep in mind that these are only ESTIMATES and not the actual SRP's *** However, it is a good place to start from as I know most of us will be purchasing "Fully Loaded" vehicles so expect to pay up to $39,000 CAN or $ 37,000 US for a tripped out RS/LT V6 Coupe and a heavy $ 50,000 CAN or $45,000 US for a RS/SS V8 Coupe.

I will try to update with firm pricing as soon as the info is leaked my way.

GM's main goal in pricing the new Camaro is that it will be very competitive to that of the Ford Mustang '09, hopefully, they will keep to this principle as I have no problem forking out up to $40 G's for an RS/LT V6, but don't ask me to pay any more otherwise, some of those options will have to be scratched off my list.

I hope this info helps and am wishing they are all a little on the high side too!

RetroDude wants an Aqua Blue :chevy: Camaro RS/LT with Dual White Stripes in his garage! So, what will be in yours!!

You want the same exact Camaro I want color/stripe wise. I hope that price is on the high side as well. I really don't want to pay more than 35k for a well equipped SS/RS. Pricing is only 3 months away, alomst there.

Good info, thanks.

I think this is in line. The G8 is a guideline for pricing, although the different exchange rates between Canada and Australia add confusion into the process. G8 GT runs around $33000 with two packages, and G8 GXP LS3 will run "just under $40K".

Of course, a new Corvette Coupe 2LT can be had for $43K with employee pricing. Gets a little close. I'll take one of each, please.

Personally, I think the Aqua Blue / White strip package w/ Light grey interior is the best next to the Inferno Orange with Cyber Grey stripes, however, my dealership where I buy my cars from just got an Aqua Blue HHR last week and it looks fantastic  I'm just hoping it suits the body style of the Camaro otherwise, I will have to change to the Imperial Blue with white stripes instead. I would buy the Inferno Orange, however, the Imperial Blue I figure will attract less attention from the fuzz as you stupidly drive by too fast.

The prices for the LT and SS sure seem awful high to me based on what I've been hearing. I would expect the base cost of the LT to be close to the base of the Mustang V6 Pony Package and the base cost of the SS to be about the same as the base for the GT Premium package.

I really want a fully loaded SS/RS but I can only afford $32k-$33k and if the cost goes too much over that I may end up getting a LT/RS.

RetroDude 09-28-2008 09:39 PM

That is one of the reasons I'm looking at the RS/LT since it fits my budget, however, if the price estimates are a bit high say by $2000 and the RS/SS comes into range, guess what I'll be buying instead!

ezlock83 09-28-2008 09:43 PM

I honestly think that is high. I would say RS/LT will run 28,000 - 30,000. I wouldn't think over 30. You can get a tricked out mustang gt with glass roof for 31,000.

RetroDude 09-28-2008 09:46 PM

To quote an example I know first hand of inregards to the 2008 Impala SS. A fully loaded SS in Canada runs about $39,500 whereas the same Impala SS sold in the US stickers in at about $31 - 32G's Simply a pricing issue between Canadian and US funds from the exchange rate I guess. I just can't see a RS/SS going for the same as an Impala SS if you know what I mean.

ShnOmac 09-28-2008 09:48 PM

45,000 for a SS/RS..... Im really thinking that is way to high. That wouldnt be competitive at all.

ShnOmac 09-28-2008 09:53 PM

Shelby GT 500 starts at 43,000. No way Camaro SS/RS is going to be that expensive.

I prefer Jetstream Blue, available on the Vette. Not an option on the Camaro.

But someone posted a pic of an Aqua Blue HHR, and it looked pretty darn good to me too.

RetroDude 09-28-2008 09:57 PM

The $45 US is for a fully loaded Rs/SS with ALL available options including Gound Effects, Sunroof, Spoiler, Jewel Red Tintcoat paint, Leather, Special exaust, Upgraded Sound System, 21" Chrome Wheels and Tires plus Striping options and many more available options sure to come our way by the time Final pricing is announced in January '09. Please keep in mind that these are only estimates from what the workers have heard and not GM head office Brass. Also, I'm not sure what a Mustang Shelby GT500 KR costs in the USA, but here in Canada I think it's about $50 - 65G's

Nothing left to hide if this is true.

If this is true, then all we need to see is the last three colors. Give some insight. This is infor from a couple diff threads. Just putting every thing in the same spot to see all at once.

Just seems like from what we have been hearing those prices are on the highside.... I really really hope your wrong:D. I just cant see a base SS going for 33,000. Obviously we are all guessing so I guess we will just have to wait until January to know for sure! :chevy:
