failed smog :(

so i did the complete exhaust, i have texas speed long tubes going into a borla atak catback. I did the install a good 2 months ago and then i did the SCT tune a few days later. I deleted the rear o2s and havent had a check engine light since then. i only work 4 miles away but ive had to put a couple hundred miles on it since then. The test results said "OBD EVAP" and "OXY SNSR" N for result and Not Completed under additional information. everything went smooth until the print out, i thought as long as it passed visual and the engine light wasnt on it would pass. Can it see that the rear o2s were turned off/deleted ?

oh i think i messed up because my car wasnt warmed up enough

Blubird68 08-17-2018 01:09 PM

Ok that wasn’t it, I just drove a good 10 miles and it’s plenty warmed up but the guy said it has nothing to do with temperature and that someone has been working on the car, and I’m like trust me I’d know it’s my car and I’m the one who works on it. Then told me the engine light is probably going to come on again 🙄. So I don’t know what it is

HyperV117 08-17-2018 01:31 PM

EVAP is related to the gas canister isn't it?

Blubird68 08-17-2018 01:56 PM

Well it’s acting like the computer was reset recently/battery disconnected but it hasn’t. Basically it’s saying the car hasn’t gone through a driving cycle but it has

shibbs 08-17-2018 02:03 PM

If you flashed it recently, or cleared the codes, it can take up to 500 miles for the computer to flag the "ready" status.

Blubird68 08-17-2018 02:09 PM

Oh wow didn’t know that, yeah I probably only put a good 200 miles on it

Yep. Keep going without plugging anything into the OBD port about another 300 miles.

Did you tune out the rear 02 sensors when the long tube were installed?
EVAP takes forever...

This is what I had to do for the EVAP:

Yeah I did tune them out, didn’t know there was a whole procedure for the reset. Thought you just had to do a few driving cycles

Does anyone know if turning off the rear o2s cause it to be not ready ? Has anyone passed smog with long tubes ?

I just had my longtubes put in in April....car was not driven all winter. Didn't put many miles on it at all before doing my emissions on May 6. Zero issues. Im not sure if the should be turned off. Shouldnt they be set to say "ready" ? I could be wrong .

I put hardly any miles on between the headrr install and the emissions test.

When the car is tuned some tuners make the mistake of turning the monitors off.

This will cause you to fail the OBD2 plug in test.

The driving cycle to reset the computer for a 5th Gen is bizarre my friend sells used cars and he said you need so many miles at certain speeds.
