Z/28 will be $69,000 (rumor)

According to my Service manager, whom i know and trust, the price on the Z/28 will be $69,000

AdamZ 04-13-2013 11:37 PM

Something I've learned...C5 learns things wayyy before individual dealers do...so, I will wait for GM to tell us :D

midnighter 04-13-2013 11:38 PM

That's a bargain.

Becky, or anyone who can answer this. Have they announced how many they intend to build? If it is very low volume, it seems all this discussion about MSRP may be moot to the average Joe.

As of now....
No announcements have been made ...
Regarding pricing or production....

alcal1084 04-14-2013 03:18 AM

Look up ZO6 with ZO7 package that will give you an idea of price!!!

I think it's time to stop knowing OR trusting him. :bs:

cvp33 04-14-2013 05:48 AM

My dealer told me $64,485. Also told me my blinker fluid was low and my muffler bearings needed adjusting. Also does anyone know what a duofluctometer is? Apparently mine's in need of replacing.

Camaro_34 04-14-2013 06:02 AM

Just like the hot girl at spring break who said she was clean.......

davidcroft 04-14-2013 07:34 AM

I work at a Chevy dealer...I know nothing yet! I will say it's a good guess, but definitely not confirmed:bonk:

christianchevell 04-14-2013 07:55 AM

69k well that must come with lifetime replacement of the front splitter for everytime you park and break it...............................Like the cleft chin on a baby.

Wizard1183 04-14-2013 08:13 AM

Too high! 69-70k out the door. 60-65k MSRP. Leaning more towards 60-62k

If MSRP is 69, it's not worth having you're dealer gave you a phony number in accordance with the year the retro is after. 69 being the year. Stop trusting him because he's going to start selling you wooden nickels at a premium ;)

Apex Motorsports 04-14-2013 08:16 AM

They do not know the pricing yet but that probably isn't far off. There are some high dollar parts on that car and I think a lot of folks will be surprised when they do announce the pricing.

shrinkdoc 04-14-2013 08:41 AM

If its $69k they can expect to sell maybe 10 or 20 of them a year. Most are waiting to see what the 6Gen looks like before dumping $70k in a camaro with no A/C.:bonk:

motorhead 04-14-2013 08:41 AM

I know for a factor that the OP is wrong and so is his dealer. It will be $62,548.23 base price. I know this because I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

shrinkdoc 04-14-2013 08:44 AM

Why spend 69k when a ZL1 is $54k:pout:?

so we will never see one on the road then

Your Service Manager needs to act like a MANAGER and stop spreading gossip & speculation... and just focus on honest customer service on the current vehicles on hand.

He probably isn't lying to you but his info may be wrong. 69k is a lot. But I wouldn't be too surprised. If limited edition, GM may be thinking fanboys will selll out the car with pre orders just to own a Z28. If so, they're overestimating.

I'm sure fanboys would preorder a Camaro that had a Z28 badge on it. Which is why they aren't building any Z28s - only Z/28s

Corvette tax included.

Im sure this will be 60k but i could see them selling it for 45-50 and be a profitable car

Which one is it? You posted $69,000 in this thread and $69,900 in another thread.

GM already said the Z will be the most expensive Camaro ever made.

So with that, I'm out of the pool.

Going to look for something else or buy a new 5th Gen and the mod the heck out of it.

Exactly! Suspension, HP, plus you can strip a few things off of it to bring it close to the same weight. You'd have HP and suspension over it for less money. To buy a car with CC brakes and an LS7 just to say you have one for 70k+ is ill minded IMO. Track beast it is. Very impressed with it. The price they'll prolly ask? Not impressed whatsoever. Much cheaper outlets that'll beat it.

2SSRS@Gen5diy 04-14-2013 11:57 AM

I think the price will be as high as said in the OP i hope not but the brakes are over 10K by them self add the the newer rear end gears, 305 on all corners and that LS7 we all want and the new seats, and its a 40K in new parts if not more. so add that to a stock SS and lets see if its not at 75K+ car.

Blackkaz04 04-14-2013 12:06 PM

Yup I'm guessing that car will msrp in the upper 60s.

alcal1084 04-14-2013 12:30 PM

84000 you heard it here first!!! Dealer markup 99000!!!!

shockandawe 04-14-2013 12:34 PM

Can't beat 69k for a stripped Camaro.

lbls1 04-14-2013 01:13 PM

Crazy, especially due to the fact that its 160 hp down from the gt500 (even though its n/a). Chevy has to be careful with this one. You can only spread hype so far....

One reason I would do it is because I don't want a FI engine, I want a big cubic inch engine NA and make good power with it. Plus having the Z/28 would be awesome to me, so I'd be happy buying one for sure
