i,m sure its been done but what is the best shifter
who has tried and bought what? looking at hurst and mti .Has anyone bought the gm rip shifter?
Thanks Larry |
Depends on who you talk to and what your intended use is. I love the Hurst, but it is a competition shifter and not necessarily for everyone.

If I had a pic I would put it in. I have the MTI. I love it. have nothing to say about hurst or any others, as I have only had the MTI, well and the stock shifter. I love everything about my MTI shifter. perfect to me. easy and aggressive when I want it to be.

I'm looking at a Hurst shift kit myself. But I haven't gotten to test it with other models so I don't know what to compare to.

MGW. I am going to go with the MGW, I like the entire setup. Do a search there are a few users here that love it.

Got the Hurst Competition Plus [in my Mustang], wouldn't have anything else.

Love my hurst.

I went with the MGW based on the feedback on this forum. I can say it works awesome and it a big improvement over the OEM. Also, their customer service is outstanding. George was very helpful. Plus, the retro assembly and racing knob looks killer.

<3 my Hurst :D

I love my MGW.
|
MGW it is a fantastic shifter
|
thanks everyone for your response.looks like I need to check out the mgw.

MGW is awesome!. It is stiff the first week or two but once broke in it is unbelievable and so nice to use. No missed gears and blows away the sloppy stock shifter. #1 Mod any M6 Camaro owner should do IMO. The hurst is too long a stick and very ugly in my opinion...the cue ball is an absolute eyesore :(
