Rx breather cap "breathing" oil

ok, i have something strange happening & I'm trying to figure out what is going on...I have a Vararam & the Rx catch can & Rx breather cap...I had the Vararam first, so when I installed the catch can & breather cap, I took off the varavram breather & capped the line...everything has been on for over a year with no issues (yes the hoses are on right)...last night I could smell burning oil while out for a drive...when I popped the hood, the breather cap had oil dripping from the filter part...what could be causing this? I put the regular oil cap & vararam beather back on for now...I'll have to check the oil once the engine is cooled to see how much I've actually lost...should I be concerned & remove the catch can for now as well? I remember there was another thread saying the valve could get stuck, or the PVC orifice could get clogged

I had a similar issue . . . I will have a hard time explaining but I talked to Tracy and he told me what to fix and it seems to have worked so try giving him a call. Best of luck let us know how it goes.

Easy fix....the orfice in the barb on the passenger side valve cover becomes clogged over time. It is easy to remove with a vice grips or plyers and then drill 7/64" the top single hole and both the bottom holes:

See how tiny those bottom holes are?

I want to drill the orifice too but Im unsure how deep do I drill on both sides?

I had the exact same issue, except my breather exploded :D

I took off the breather and uncapped the drivers side as well, as I had all kinds of issues, oil leaking from driverside head gasket in addition oil inlet, and lots of fumes like you probably experienced. It was not discussed about drilling the holes until a month ago or something.

Could you please post a pic of where this is located on the valve cover.

Was intersted in this breather, but I've read enough "oil coming out" or "burning/smoke" stories with this breather that I'm not sure I want to do this mod any longer. Maybe down the road sometime.

is this barb still used when Maggie FI is installed or is that the one that gets plugged off?
