Bought a 1le need help with Exhaust Question

Just bought a 1le but did not get the npp exhaust since this was a great deal.

I'm looking to get that nice loud rumble on start up that you get here:

My question is how do I go about getting this sound. I'm a bit confused on what all is different about the npp exhaust other than quad tips, the valves, and the $100 rear diffuser to accomodate the tips.

Is all I need the quad tips and the diffuser to get this sound. Or do I need a full exhaust system underneath

help appreciated

The mufflers also. There are members that sell there setup.

I've been down this road and would do it again.
Here's an old thread about it

Just saw a set of muffler for sale for 600 shipped

Would a muffler delete be a viable alternative. From Youtube videos the sound is very similar. Although I hear various comments on drone. I'm not looking for drone for daily driving or commuting on the highway

I have muffler delete, resonator delete and dual tips added. Sounds just as good some actually exhaust. Doesn't sound bad at all, and I don't have drone, unless I just don't notice it. It is louder then NPP thought, but I think it starts to sound bad with drone once you add headers. Cheap alternative to NPP.

I went with high flow cat's and couldn't be happier. I think this would be the easiest and cheapest way to true happiness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B1zgM3f1X4

Just so you know the sound is so perfect that im concerned with headers it will be too loud.

I went high flow cats too. Sounds amazing. I want louder though. High flow cats on NPP are plenty loud tbh

I have the GMPP track exhaust. It sounds pretty damn good. No ragrets.

I see what you did there :bellyroll::bellyroll:

To the OP...like others have said you should be able to find an NPP exhaust on here for sale. You could always just purchase a cat back exhaust and get a similar sound. The Corsa exhaust has the quad tip and sounds very similar with no valving to worry about.

I pulled my fuse two weeks after I bought my 1LE ;)

paul84043 11-26-2015 04:37 PM

Fuse pull on NPP is basically a muffler delete.
What you're paying for is all the intelligence and vacuum crap to automatically open on demand.

If you're worried about drone, you can always put on J-Pipes.

Exhaust is a real rabbit's hole.. There's so many ways to get what you want, it's never as simply as wanting a certain sound..
That being said.. having options is a wonderful thing.

I've acquired a take-off NPP, have a replacement diffuser on enroute vis FedEx and am building up a controller from off the shelf parts largely from eBay. Expect a complete write up here soon over the winter break. First step is navigating around a blizzard between me in KC and the complete 1LE NPP take-off system that I'm scheduled to pick up this Sunday near Denver! :mad0260:

I ended up deleting the mufflers and resonators and installing a Magnaflow resonated X pipe. Used a Stainless Works Muffler delete pipe, but a muffler shop could custom make one probably cheaper. Sounds good yet is fairly quiet inside the car. Beat the hell out of spending 1000 to 1200 on a catback.

My set up is NPP with Kooks headers & HF Cats, I use a switch to manually open the flappers.
It's a lot louder than stock, keep them shut when doing normal driving.
