Headers?
Gents, I am posting this here as we in Canada have to deal with cost/s of shipping.
Can you speak to what headers you have and where you got them. Catted or catless also. Thanks |
I ordered my DynaTechs from the local parts guy, same price as ordering KOOK's or ARH from Davenport's. Only difference is Davenports usually has them in stock. I try to support local when possible. My buddy ordered his (for a Vette) from the local GM dealer, pretty good deal.
I went with high flow cats as i am boosted and a bit of a pulley upgrade, I understand the cat delete can make a bit of a drone, in a coupe, not a problem, in a rag top, could be. |
yeah I was all set to but the speed engineering ones but then i hear too much about the smell of catless and also the raspyness. I dont like raspy.
Its hard being in Canada ;) but sooo worth it. |
I ordered my kooks lt's, hi flows and a magna flow cb from maryland speed who is a vendor here. Gave me a great deal and it was when the dollar was closer to par.
I took the cats off after I got the maggy and cam installed and got re-tuned for a cat-less set up. Yea it's a little more raspy but not as a drastic difference going from the stock header to the lt's. Man that was a major difference in rasp. |

Thanks Outlaw...when you were Lt and catless was the smell awful?
|
I have American Racing headers. I HAD their hi flow cats untill I blew their guts all the way back to the mufflers. Gutted them and things are good. No smell.
|
Interesting and good to know.
Thanks |

Forgot to add that my cats would have survived normal every day driving.
But not what I do to them. I think mosport killed them. |
lol..makes sense to me.
I am most worried about the raspiness and smell...however, the price of headers AND high flow cats is just too much for me. |

These are what I used. Fit is perfect, no leaks or issues at all in 2 years now. I used the GESI Green Hi Flows as well. They are made in a factory 10 minutes from my house so got them for $300/pair !!
Bought the headers off eBay, shipping from California was steep but still worth it. This is what I paid for them: Description Unit price Qty Amount Maximizer Stainless Exhaust Mid Tube Header FITS 10-14 Camaro SS 6.2L V8 LS3 Chevy $271.32 USD 1 $271.32 USD Shipping and handling $119.40 USD Insurance - not offered ---- Total $390.72 USD Payment $390.72 USD This charge will appear on your credit card statement as "PAYPAL Looks like the price has gone up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Maximizer-E...dW138k&vxp=mtr |
