Detailing Questions - Where & What to buy

This forum has great information on it for detailing and everyone seems to love Adams products, but I've looked in a few place here and no one seems to sell locally. I have seen McGuire's (sp) stuff everywhere though. This will be a new process for me but I want my car to look like it should and now that the weather is nicer, time to get er done!!

So, what are Canadians using for detailing their cars?? And where are you finding it??

Thanks

I order from here, and the shipping is very fast!

I've had good luck with www.eshine.ca
They are back east and I get my stuff rather quickly. If you find it cheaper in canada they will match and free shipping available.
Another place was autoobsessed.com (i think) and they are in Edmonton.

I'm too impatient to detail my own car. I usually take it to the wand car wash, then shammy it dry. When it's warm enough I use black magic titanium wheel cleaner, and turtle wax wet n' black for the rubber.

I never bother with waxing. Should I?

:thanks: Thanks for the suggestions! Will check out the sites.

I drove my car all winter and can see the effects. I want to try the clay bar but would really like to watch someone do theirs before attempting. I also just had body work and new paint done and would like to protect it as much as possible. Mines my dd so lots of exposure to the elements.

:pound: Funny Guy!

I've been using Zaino from day 1 on the Camaro and love the results, but everyone has their own taste and price point. http://www.zainostore.ca/

Adam is good stuff as well and a lot like Mothers.

You will not believe the crap that Clay Barring removes! There really isn't a whole lot to it, mostly the time you need to invest.

Do a search for Adam's Polish on YouTube, Adam's have a great selection of how to video's posted.

I use Meguiar's ultimate compound ( for swirl marks),
followed by
Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax
followed by
Adams carnuba wax.

On my black 2lt rs

i love the results :)

Sheena, I am going to be doing mine this year. I have/use the Adam's products. Since I had the hood spears put on my car, I clayed, polished the hood to get the slight surface scratches out of it, sealed the paint and put a coat of wax on it. I put one of my cloths on the hood today and it slid off. One way to see if your car needs claying is lightly rub your fingers over it. It will probably feel rough. Then put your hand in a baggie and rub your paint. It will feel like gravel!

I'm willing to give tips. Product? On your car, the Zaino polishes would work amazing on it! They will tend to give it lots of depth and a wet look. Don't get me wrong...Adam's has great products, but I know how well Zaino works on the darker cars. Zaino is expensive, but keep in mind around 1 ounce should do the whole car.

I will warn you, like I warned Rob. There is a LOT of work to detailing a vehicle if you want the paint perfect! LOL LOL There are more abrasive polishes you can buy to speed up the process and different polishers as well. Go to adamspolishes.ca and watch the videos. They are VERY good videos. Then you can look up The Junkman on Youtube as well. He's a supporter of Adam's polishes.

Let me know if you guys would like a hand.
