Maybe for some people, but not too many people I know cross-shop the GT500 and Corvette. I know I didn't. If I was looking for the best performance off the showroom floor for my $$, I would not have bought the car I did. Given all the Camaro fans on this site, I figured it would be understood that performance is not the only reason why you buy a car.

Yeah, comparing the GT500 to the SS is just as goofy as comparing a GT500 to a Corvette, but that didn't stop all the magazines from doing just that during the time there was no Camaro or Challenger to compare it to.
