EBC YellowStuff?
 

Has anyone tried EBC YellowStuff brake pads for street/light track use? I had them on my Mini Cooper and they worked great, but this isn't a Mini.

We have a guy at autoX that uses EBC Red. but thats the extent of my knowledge

I guess I'd be the guinea pig then... Any other recommendations?

I'm interested as well. Its between OE, Hawk HPS, and YellowStuff.
Where are ordering from?

Actually the OE pads are great IMO, but they dont last too long (4 track days) and they're very expensive. I had HPS's before and they were ok, but lacked the initial bite I wanted. Again, that wasn't on this car, so I'm not sure if that applies. Haven't really searched yet. I found a good deal at auto anything for my last set. If anyone on here is a vendor I'd rather buy from them.

Ive ran/am running yellow stuff. Much kless fade than OEs. At the track i did experience some mild fade, but over all stopping didnt seem to lose much, they just didnt bite as hard. No noticable issues at autocross, may not have had time to build the heat? No problems on the street, some mild squeeking during bed in, quiet ever since the track day though.

I highly recommend red stuff pads. They squeal a little under cold braking but its almost unnoticeable.

tried them...disintegrated them on a road course. not up to dealing with heat. if you want a track pad get a track pad and swap them for track days.

I found a good deal on them at autoplicity.com. $225 shipped for all 4. Since I'm not doing a ton of track time maybe they'll work for me. If not, I've wasted more money on worse things. I'll let everybody know what I think in a few weeks after my next track day.

Ok, so I tried the Yellowstuff pads on the track. In my opinion, they are nothing special. They are basically like the stock pads, but cheaper (which I guess is worth something in a cost/benefit ratio). They wear about the same as the stock pads too, so I probably won't get these again. Next time I might try some hawk or Ferodo pads. Since the car comes with Ferodo HP1000 pads, I might try the next pad up in their range.

Carbotech has a lot of compounds from mild to wild...I'm very pleased with their stuff.

We have carbotech on the M3, and they are so noisy, but hot damn they are killer. Maybe I'll look at their range and see what would work for the camaro. What model do you have and what are your thoughts on street use?

I've got the 1521 street compound on my car...I don't race often. They're quiet and almost no dust...very very nice on the rotors, and they have great feel/stopping power in street use, haven't found any problem with them yet. Once in a while they squeak on a humid day, but nothing major, it doesn't bother me at all.

Today I called EBC and talked to them about the YellowStuff pads. After I explained my situation, they said that the YellowStuff really aren't the best application for a Camaro because of the weight of the car and also because I don't put many miles on the the car, so they most likely would never be fully bedded in. They said that their BlueStuff pads come pre-bedded, and have better initial bite and a better heat range. Also, they said that they work just as well on the street as the YellowStuff.

They then told me that they are sending me a FREE set of their BlueStuff Pads!

I have to say I was shocked, and I really wasn't expecting that. I can't thank them enough considering the price of pads these days.

I'll let everyone know what I think about the new pads after I get them on the track.
