2010 SS vs 2011 M3
Inside Gewow's M3 chasing me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvB9g...dazy1DmlTsB3mA Inside my 2010 SS running from.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5raIQ_ks-uk The M3 has a big brake kit and a track alignment of -2 camber with track rubber. My SS has a square setup on Nitto NT05 rubbers and a GMPP performance exhaust with solo HF cats. He has almost 2 seconds per lap on a 2 minutes lap on me...I'm wondering if I had a track alignment I could match his time? |

Yes it's stock. It will be upgraded wih the 1LE track pack soon. But until then Im wondering if an alignment would be enought to match the M3.

If you want to match his time then you need to be on an even playing field. NT05's are no where near as good as "track tires". R-comp tires can turn your everyday ordinary car into a handling machine on the track! Now slap those tires on a car with an already good suspension (M3, 5th gen, etc) and watch it shine, as you saw with your friends M3. An alignment helps, but tires, shocks, springs and swaybars combined will help even more. An FE6/1LE suspension upgrade will definitely help even out the playing field but R-comp tires will make the BIGGEST/most difference. |
What are the stock alignment specs on the SS? An alignment always helps. A better tire will help tremendously, but r-comps can give you less obvious feedback so unless you have a decent amount of experience they can give you a good scare the first few times you really push them.
