anyone know about matching different paint types

I've got more little front chips in 9600 miles on my Camaro than I have in 50,000+ on my Cutlass. I've had the Old's forever and painted it twice. The first time was base/clear, the second was acrylic. The nose of the car looked like Swiss cheese in less than 10,000 miles with the base/clear. The acrylic on there now has two tiny chips in over 50,000 miles.

So, I'd like to paint the front clip on the Camaro in acrylic for the durability, but worry about the long term match of the clip and the rest of the car. Before you ask, I can't afford to paint the whole car, but the nose clip would be very doable. Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

I dont know about painting but once you do fix it, look for a clear bra to put on it. I wish I had done that
