What shorty headers are you going with?

On DT's website they say they are not street legal for california... BBK, I haven't heard whether or not they are CARB certified. Their website doesn't say much at all about them. If you find out PM me and let me know cause I am also looking for shorty headers that are CARB certified.
|
I wouldn't sweat the CARB cert on shorties, they don't move the cats so you won't fail visual. CARB is a huge scam, apparently from what a vendor relayed to apply for CARB Certification there is a $100,000 fee PER part no. So if you have, say a chrome and black CAI, you pay $200,000 to apply for both. This is why many aftermarket parts are legal, but the vendors don't certify them.

holy crap!!!!! Interesting. Well then I would go with DT as their reputation supersedes BBK. SLP used to specialize in the camaro only. They use 409 stainless steel that is ceramic coated, so thats another option.

SLP shorties will be street legal once they are released. At least that is what the rep said when I talked to them about it. They have submitted and should be getting their carb for their shorties.

I have a pair of JBA stainless steel shorties that I also had ceramic coated. I will be taking these off over Xmass , with under 500 miles on them. I can make a deal on them. The coating looks great with no scratches, almost like chrome and they are certified. I am going to do a cam with Ltubes otherwise I would keep them. They look and sound nice
|
interesting that the JBA shorties are certified when the website says this "The product accompanying this document is legal only for off-highway use (except in California or states that have adopted California emission standards), racing use or for use on pre-emission-controlled motor vehicles/motor vehicle engines (pre-1966 domestic vehicles certified to California standards, pre-1968 domestic vehicles certified to federal standards and all pre-1968 foreign vehicles), per the manufacturer’s application guide" http://jbaheaders.com/feature_pages/2010Camaro.asp
