Buying a Camaro at 35 a Midlife Crisis ?

I'm sure that's what my ex thought when she saw me driving my Camaro. We were together for 15 looong years ! I always wanted a car like this one,
I remember the first time I brought it up she was like that's not a family car & if you buy it you can pack your stuff blablabla
So I ended up buying a truck and a SUV. We split up a few months ago & guess what's was the first thing I did.
I don't know why most people think this is a midlife crisis thing.

Not my case.

i have longed to own muscle cars from a young age...only managed to get the money to buy one in my 50's.
loving every minute..my wife wants me own a nice car like the camaro..she knows how much it means to me..
when i said i need 36k for mine she said oh ok i'll transfer over the money to your account now..

No it is more like a big fat "F" you to the beouch that refused you one for fifteen years.

That's different than a midlife crisis purchase. Although both are more about whats going on upstairs and less about the actual car. Congrats! I think.

A mid-life crisis? I suppose I have a huge problem on my hands then (I'm 35 too). Nah, I'm just a car and motorcycle nut who enjoys toys and knows how to handle his money wisely. My Camaro SS (in my sig), my DRZ400 Supermoto (bored and stroked to a 472 w/stage 2 Hot Cams) and my newest purchase, a 2016 VROD Muscle with Vance and Hines exhaust. :headbang: I enjoy motorized toys. My wife enjoys clothes, shoes and purses. We're both happy.

Congrats on getting rid of her and congrats on the car. A woman who doesnt support my hobbies and interests is not a woman I need in my life.

Who's life are you living? Yours, or someone elses?

This is your only go-round, might as well enjoy it.

I am 50 and just got mine. I get it also, HOW OLD ARE YOU. My first car was 1972 Camaro and I have had all trucks up till now. I have only owned 2 cars and they are Camaros. My dad is 80 and every time I go over he makes me take him out in it. I think he smiles more than I do. I am trying to get him to drive it but he does not want to shift. I keep telling him the worst you will do is stall it letting out the clutch. Who cares start it up again and we go.

Only if you plan to live to 70! (bought mine at 56)

IMO 35 is too young to call it a mid life crisis ... Needs to be around 50

Well my midlife crisis started early then.... 2 brand new motorcycles, 2 used motorcycles and a new Camaro, at 28....

I applaud to that!!! My little lady supported me even when the amount of my guitars went over 300, and when I saw this yellow jem, with no hesitation she said - you should take it. It's got your name on it. You think she asks for something in return? Never. You just have to be a nice guy and do the right thing. Got her a new T4R.

Was 54....got DIVORCED(married to loser for 27 years)....bought my dream car....Camaro convertible. My kids accused me of a midlife crisis. I called them HATERS and said they were jealous cause mom's car was way cooler than theirs!!!!

Average lifespan for US men is 76, so 35 is close.... i bought mine 5 years ago at 37.
