Hawk PC Vs HPS
So i just ordered some R1 Drilled and Slotted Rotors and I am getting some pads as well. I was just wondering What is best for my conditions of driving. Im never really going to track the car but i do want better breaking power than stock. I have always felt that the V6 lacks in breaking power when compared to the SS. I dont really care to much about the dust but as little as possible will would be nice.
So my question is will the Performance Ceramic deliver a better stopping power than stock? i know the HPS will be better than PC but how big of a difference? Appreciate the help and the advice on this :thumb: |
The ceramics will not perform much better than stock but the are an almost zero duct pad. You will definitely notice the HPS for sure and they dust less than stock but more than the ceramics. Which ever one you go with be sure to properly bed in the pads per the included instructions. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to hit me up.

My experience with the HPS pads were OK. I felt they didn't deliver the performance I was looking for and moved on to the StopTech pads. Those pads offer much better braking performance at the expense of negligible dust output. I would autoX on the HPS pads and had to step up the HP Plus pads to get the performance I was looking for. After getting frustrated with swapping my pads every time I went to a simple autoX and not a HPDE, I said I had to find a pad that could do both street and autoX...the StopTechs are certainly that!

I personally think HPS and Performance Ceramic perform about the same. The main difference is performance ceramic has less dust and noise. I run performance ceramic on a lot of my cars and love them.

I looked on their website and cannot tell which is best pad to run on my SS either. Anyone know if any of our vendors carry these pads? It seems most carry Hawk. |
My apologies, but it appears the StopTech Street Performance Pads that I use are only available for the SS and not the V6. If you call them up, they may be able to make them for you. They're owned by Centric Brakes and they make pretty much everything you can think of. Who knows!
