UT OH! I need better pictures though to make my final conclusion on Rally Yellow. I will be sticking with the Heritage grille though.

motorhead 09-29-2011 11:25 AM

That's one of the colors on my list. I hope you don't have to get the wide black stripe on the roof and hood. I don't like that for any color option.

Danko 09-29-2011 11:39 AM

The hood is called "The Mohawk" and it has the black center. I agree about the roof and trunk. Now picture it with NO (well-named) spoiler. Mustang GT offered a no-spoiler option a few years ago. Sure wish the ZL1 would, too. Yellow looks good but white remains my choice.

Z4me 09-29-2011 12:05 PM

Interesting when was the dealers conferance btw. Nice to see the Z in
another color, I think it looks better in yellow then I thought it would.
The front grill looks better then the egg crate design :yikes:, but I hope
they offer the heritage grill as a built on option at the factory.
Thx for sharing :w00t:

lbls1 09-29-2011 12:07 PM

I wanna believe it but...dunno something doesn't look right.

Oh ok, post #4. Its a forgery... or is it?? Still dunno.

IOMZL1 09-29-2011 12:29 PM

Awesome. The two grilles match now.

Still waiting to see one in IOM......

Joebot8484 09-29-2011 12:56 PM

To bad we don't have any interior shots! How Bad A$$ would it be if GM put exterior color match stitching in the ZL1?

Brad02SS 09-29-2011 01:04 PM

Hmm...I've been thinking I'd get the Hertiage grill the day I get the car but this isn't bad. I think I still like the Heritage grill better but this one could work for a little while.

radz28 09-29-2011 01:06 PM

I'm digging that grille and thanks for sharing!!!

Milk 1027 09-29-2011 01:08 PM

I wish there were beter pictures.... without all the glare.

radz28 09-29-2011 01:22 PM

I hate cell phone pics', but at times, they're better than nothing, so I'm still grateful :D

Z4me 09-29-2011 01:31 PM

That new pic of the front grill looks pretty good, I may go with that if its available. Like another peson commented it matches the bottom grill facia
alot better then the standard grill on the SS. Things are getting more interesting with ever passing day on these boards.

The IOM Ninja 09-29-2011 01:39 PM

I maybe alone on this but I think Rally Yellow is one of the ugliest colours next to RJT. It's not the right yellow for this car. Though it does look good in the second picture where is is closer to HOK Sunrise Gold. Should have at least made it look a little bit closer,

Tons of props to the people that have gotten their Camaro's painted that colour

Love the grill though

lbls1 09-29-2011 03:19 PM

I hope we can get some better pics. So far I don't like this grille. Its too narrow, and we still have to deal with the oversized bow-tie.

Sorry, me not liking these.....(if this is what we're going to see in production).

Shurenuff 09-29-2011 03:30 PM

I actually like the eggcrate, but this is nice too. Need to see some better shots but I'm absolutely sure it'll grow on me even more over time. Just one more thing to separate the ZL1 from the crowd of Camaros, so I'm good with it.

+2!!! It's a little different, which is good, and not all shouty. I really like it. I'll like it more when we get high-def' photos :D

PYROLYSIS 09-29-2011 03:49 PM

I have an idea. Let's find a camaro that no one has seen and take a picture of it, but first we'll point flashlights at it so no one can tell what it looks like. The only thing these pictures are missing is a fog machine.

:bellyroll: LOL

Yeah I didn't mind the egg crate but this will be unique and hopefully tie the car together. +1 for better pics needed.

So, you want to see a better picture of the grill? I thought it looked familiar and I went back into my photo reference library and found it under the Jay Leno Camaro. It looks likes a close match. The horizontal bars appear to be a little thicker. What do you think?

THAT'S WHERE I'VE SEEN THAT BEFORE!!! Good call 'Jedi!!!:drinking::respekt:

IOMZL1 09-29-2011 04:21 PM

I don't think it is an exact match because the horizontal portions of the ZL1 grill have indents to match the lower grill but it is definately very close.

Cammie 2011 09-29-2011 04:32 PM

Beautiful

That and the recessed bowtie (there's an outer trim around the bowtie)

I guess I was so excited, I posted twice. Mods If you would delete one of these, I would appreciate it. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Close, but that's not it. The one in the pics has the same "indentations" to match the lower grille. The Leno grille does not. But they do share similarities.

I like it. (btw, if they make it in IOM, I'll puke- that's the ugliest color known to man)

KLR ZL1 09-29-2011 04:58 PM

The upper grill actually matches the bottom grill, if you look at the indentations. I think it looks better than the stock grill.

first thing i thought of when i seen this thread title.
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7s9O1gIK79...ebeeCamaro.jpg

boy was i kinda right the grill i knew was gonna be the t3 bb grill. iv always hated rally yellow tho, its missing that flashy factor. imo yellow is overplayed. if they had that bb yellow than were talken.

hv92 09-29-2011 06:23 PM

The yellow in the photoshop thread looked MUCH better than in these pics. Hopefully the white with this grill or the Victory red do not disappoint.

DCEPTCN 09-29-2011 06:58 PM

That grille = love explosion

91Z28350 09-29-2011 07:13 PM

I like it!

SSmoked 09-29-2011 08:27 PM

one thing i really dis-like about this grill is the fact that new bars create a bow-tie around the gold bow-tie. maby i have to see it in better lighting.

OldScoolCamaro 09-29-2011 08:42 PM

All of the pictures are over exposed with too much flash, but towards the end of the photo shots in the this thread it can be seen, <at least by my eye> that the grill matches the lower valance grill, and that... I like! Make it so Chevy..! :chevy:

You think it'll be a standard look?

Supercamaro64 09-29-2011 08:54 PM

That looks freakin awesome!!!

OldJedi 09-29-2011 09:02 PM

Honestly, I like it a LOT! It flows with the lower grill much, much better than the stock egg crate grill. All of the lines that catch your attention now flow horizontally instead of up and down and side to side. I was seriously thinking of having the Heritage Grill painted and installed by the dealer before I picked up the car, but now I am quite happy with the ZL1 grill. OK, lets order these things and get the assembly line moving. We need to bolster the economy!

All of the indentations in the lower grill match with the indentations in the upper grill. This has to be a ZL1 only grill. I really hope so.
