Pontiac G8

Came across a pontiac today family looking car, I'd never even seen one in person. He wanted to roll and i thought to myself this would be a walk in the park. So we roll from 30. I pulled half a car top of 2nd, drop back a little when shifted and pulled about 2 cars by 100. That car was damn quick surprised the hell out of me. Ended up talking with the guy after turned out to be a built forged 415 lol. He told me it put down about 550whp in an auto. He was shocked i pulled on him, i was shocked he kept up lol. Fun times.

Yeah, those Pontiac G8’s and the Chevy SS sedans can be shockers. They are really impressive “family sedans”.

They are our cousins on the Zeta chassis.

My friend is a Pontiac Enthusiast and owns a 72 GTO Judge and a dragstrip only 72 GTO tube frame fiberglass body racecar.

He also owns a 2009 G8 GXP with an LS3 paired to an A6.

He bought it out of Atlanta in 2010 as a slightly used car(we can not import new cars into Canada)

It is a nice car and runs the 1320 about the same as my SS.

Ya, when you get a G8 on a lift and take a look, our cars definitely are built VERY similar to them.

He had a diff from a camaro i guess. He ran low 11s at the strip. He is going to be doing a procharger i guess. It's gonna be a monster.

Obviously, all of this happened in Mexico or Canada.

Even races from Canada are filmed in Mexico.

They're basically a four door Camaro.

Stunting or street racing up here results in a roadside 7 day suspension(reinstatement is $200.00) impounding of your car for a week which you have to pay for (aprox $2000.00).

Your insurance company is notified and if they don`t cancel you out right your rates will double.

Then you have your court date with a suspension of up to 2yrs and a max fine of $10,000.

There have been 100`s of people busted over the last few weeks in Ontario.

One 19yr old kid got caught driving his daddies Mercedes at 305kmh(185mph) on the QEW near Burlington last week:mad0259:

Thankfully he didn`t crash and kill somebody.

Don't forget about the PPVs. They're cooler than G8s and SSs, but I'm biased.

Point is, street racing posts are a banable topic on this forum.
