2010 SSRS 03-04-2013 11:58 AM

That looks great

Looks great, which brace did you end up using, having trouble finding one that fits with a supercharger. Thanks

Who makes the adapter kit?

lincoln361 03-04-2013 04:31 PM

Was that the price included with the paint job. That looks sweet.

ZWA SS 03-04-2013 05:02 PM

That is 100% sexiness there!
And I think the fuse box untainted compliments the other black under hood.

LS3 SS 03-04-2013 05:28 PM

Looks great. Even though they make little to no improvements, they certainly make the engine bay look a lot better.

I totally agree!!!

vegassam66 03-05-2013 06:30 PM

Thanks for the info, picked one up today from the dealer, they had a hard time finding it, since they just received it this morning. Did you paint or powder coat?

Tibo1LE 03-05-2013 06:37 PM

What does the adaptor kit actually do? Does it act as a shim to raise the brace?? thanks

On the 2010 & some of the 2011 they did not come with the mounting holes to install the brace. TPiS makes a "kit" to be able to install the factory brace.

Yes. They are all the same (except ZL1).

ssmike 11-29-2013 05:02 PM

Hard to believe the adapter kit is more expensive than the brace itself!

Only for the 2010 and early 2011s. Anything newer is a direct bolt on

Deftones 11-29-2013 06:06 PM

The adapter kit requires drilling so why not drill and bolt the brace right on?

Deftones 11-30-2013 02:36 PM

I see, I wasn't aware. I just thought it wasn't pre drilled.

45thCamaro 11-30-2013 04:01 PM

I just picked up the same bar on amazon. I had banked a bunch of points off my cc and I bought it. Then it didn't come with bolts, so I called amazon and they have me an additional 20% back so the thing cost be about 8 bucks lol. I'm looking to powdercoat it but I want to do 2 different colors and the place my friend knows sous it can only be done 1. Trying to figure out what color I want to do, and if I can paint over the PC with another color. I have paint to do it, but I know it can get hot and in not sure if the paint will be able to withstand the operating temperature in the summer.
