Another Subthump install

My sub install. Steve figured out what I needed like a BA harness with a LOC for the MB Quart amp I had.

My wiring is a bit messy. I did not cut anything and just rolled up the leftovers. There is so much room around the battery.

The 10 inch hits just fine for me. And sounds great even with the seat up. The sub is upside down. Oops. :iono:

Also in that last pic is the PAC Bass knob I bought. I assume I need to run the RCA jacked wires coming out of the LOC through the bass controller and then back to the amp.

There is a bass controller for that Discus Amp, but it is super expensive although it supports all of the Amp controls.

Some songs need bass reduction and other need more bass. I wonder if this is due to the sampling rate of my MP3 collection? Many different levels have I.

Thanks.

No sound proofing although I have some. I may add it later but it sounds so good I may not bother.

No rattles, although the rear view mirror is useless sometimes.

I have the Amp cover, still deciding what to do with it.

Looks good...When you have the capability to control
the bass at your fingertips is very cool...Nice job...
Looks good...I also have a 10" MTX and MTX Amp...

My finished for now sub/amp install.

I picked up a GPS bracket so I just attached the PAC bass control knob to it. I could not bring myself to drill any holes in the dash. That location turns out to be very handy and at least I do not have to look at it. :)

The wires were very easy to run up to the dash without taking anything apart. Did Chevy do that on purpose? Kudos either way.

Putting the control knob in line after the LOC did take some of the kick out of the kicker. But then I adjusted the amp controls to compensate. The PAC control knob listed definite in and out RCA jacks, but no matter which I plugged in where did not make a difference.

The radio (non-HD) now has better bass than most of the songs in my ipod. Do I have to re-rip my 60 gig of music? And will my 60 gig become 120?

XM still sounds a little sad. I will let my free subscription run out.
