Battery Replacement - 2010 SS

Has anyone had to replace a battery yet ? My 2010 SS battery tested bad

If so, did you go with the GM replacement or an aftermarket.....
I see the OEM has a vent/drain tube coming out of it, never seen this on a battery before.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Your battery lasted a lot longer than mine.

I replaced mine with one I bought at O'Reilly's. It also has the vent tube... I think that's because it's in the enclosed trunk.

It was expensive. Around $180 if I remember correctly.

I replaced mine with one from Interstate Batteries.

Replaced mine last year after 4+yrs. Didn't wait for it to fail, just felt like the right time. Forgot the brand name and I guess I can check. But I got it at Autozone.

A battery is a battery. I don't expect there to be much difference from one brand to another... as long as it does the job.

Since your Delco lasted this long why not another?
I haven't had any issues using NAPA for 30+ years, but the price difference today is minimal.

I just ordered a replacement Delco battery for my 2010, which has seen 7 full seasons of driving.

I'm not gonna test a battery that old, just replace it. It still starts but I have been getting some spurious stabilitrac warnings without actual codes.

The vent is due to the battery being in the trunk, which is an enclosed space. Batteries produce hydrogen. Boom!

All batteries that go in the trunk or passenger compartment have a vent tube to the outside.

my OEM battery died two years ago

Had my car since Oct '09 and my OEM battery died August '15. Pretty impressed it lasted so long. I went with a Braille 21LB battery. Works great but since my car isnt a DD, I keep a battery tender on it. My second choice would have been OEM or Interstate.

Delco battery

I replaced mine in July with a delco cost $140.00

Same here on my '10 SS after 5 years. Perfect fit and great warranty on the
Interstate battery.

Had bad luck in other cars with the cheapie batteries from Autozone more than once. They go about 2-3 years and die.

Went with NAPA for the 2010 Camaro battery. Expensive but worth it in my opinion. Exact fit with vent hose connection and has been working good for a few years.

I've been searching for a battery replacement. After researching to death and reading forums I think I'm going to go with my old faithful Farm & Fleet Platinum 7 year battery. They have always lasted within a month of their date, have a vent tube, more cca than the oem battery and comes in at $95, plus they are manufactured by East Penn in PA. USA! I've never had a bad one in all the years buying from Farm and Fleet. I've considered Interstate, Delco, Die Hard, Optima, and don't see the advantage of going with an AGM at this time for more than twice the price.

My '08 TrailBlazer still has its original battery. I was surprised at this because I've had rotten luck with batteries in my '02 Camaro. I replaced the battery in it three times. The last time I replaced the battery in it, the battery lasted 7 years on a Battery Tender. For a strange reason I must have received a robust OEM battery in the truck when it was new.
