DIY-ZL1 bumper cold air intake ducting

3 Attachment(s)
Hey guys this is one of the cheapest mods i did and might even gain some power. I wanted to add some cooler air to my bbk open air filter intake, soo the other day i went to my lowes and bought some Flexible aluminum air condition ducting for 10.95 and some 24in zipties. The air comes throug the drivers side corner of the zl1 lower grill (this is where the brake cooling ducting would be on a actuall zl1) And bent the pipe to let the air out right on the open filter. Here are some pics if anyone has any questions post them up!

Clever..any chance you have any other pictures of it, like where you zip tied it down or anything?

i will get some pics tommorow

One place i ziped tied it was too the wheel liner i drilled to small holes in the ducting and in the wheel liner then ran a zip tie

i also zip tied it to the radiator plastic wind deflector

i want to paint it black soo it blends in but need to take the bumper off

You might try some of that landscaping drain flex pipe, it's already black and would blend in better. Good idea though, thanks for posting!!!

Just cut the zip ties and take it out, paint, and then re-zip tie it.

I did this too to replace my ADM scoop since it won't fit any more, 4 dollars for a 24" elbow piece of black drainage pipe and I have a scoop again that feeds right into my CAI

How much length is needed? Do you think this would work:

InvisaFlow DownSpout Connector

The black pipe would work better than the metal stuff too, wouldnt absorb heat as much
