Ramps for 1LE

OK, so I am soon to run out of my "free" oil changes that my dealership provided me with the purchase of the car. I would like to do my own oil changes and also for some other underneath work. I tried buying a set of ramps at an auto store and they let me bring them out to the parking lot to try for clearance. The ramp runs into the front splitter before the low end of the ramp runs into the wheel because of the too steep angle. I have seen some large & costly ramp systems that come apart in pieces so you can get the ramp out of your way & just leave the section holding up the wheel while you do your work.

Anyone have a recommendation of what ramps work for your 1LE ? Call me crazy but I like to keep the car out of the dealership as much as possible. So I would appreciate any suggestions that you have. Thanks

What happens if you put an inch or two board in front of the ramps so it's up a little higher by the time it hits the ramps?

What auto store did you go to and what did you try?

What he said. I don't have a 1LE but I had the same issue with ramps for my SS. I use 2 boards about 1.5" thick to drive up on before the ramps and it clears just fine.

+1 light weight and come apart to slide in between the wheels. If its a big project I will put a long 2x12 under the race ramps for some extra room.

and make sure you chock the wheels with the jack stands.....they are for pussies anyhow.

Seriously just get race ramps or 2x4s

I was under the impression all camaros had free 2 year free oil changes. Not from dealer but gm. Mine came with 2 year maintenance

Sidecardog1 05-12-2015 09:15 PM

Yes, that is what I meant, the 2 year maintenance which I was told equates to 4 oil changes. Thanks all for the ideas, I will do some looking at the racer ramps. The store I went to was the local Advance Auto, they are always accommodating there, just their ramps didn't work. Appreciate the input.

I use 2x4s, though race ramps would probably be a worthwhile investment.

Just got my Raceramps a couple weeks ago and love them. Made loading the trailer worry free and with the 10inch rise service extensions getting under her will be no problem. I ordered the following ones.
