Check Engine Light
I just had a check engine light come on. From the sounds of it, it is an O2 sensor. Is there anyone in the Steilacoom/Tacoma area that can help get rid of the code?

You can go to any O'Reilly Auto Store and ask to use there scan tool, for your Camaro, ask them how to use it, they will not do it for you, but they will let you take it outside to your car to use, it will detect with a code number, don't delete it, take it back to the counter person and he will print out the possible problems.
If you already changed the O2 out I think you can disconnect the negative on the battery for 15-20 and if that was the problem it should clear the code and no engine light. If it come back on it could be something else. They do sell scan tools for your Camaro but I think you could get a better buy at Autoanything.com. Clay |
Thanks Clay. I should have elaborated a bit more. I did go to an auto parts store already and got the code checked. By posting in another section on the forums I found out it is an O2 sensor problem. I was just wondering if there is anyone in the local area here where I am that could help me clear it? I had the performance work done in VA and recently moved here so I'm not familiar with the tuners in the area. Thanks again.

If you are going to be around the JBLM or Camp Murray area tomorrow I can bring my OBD reader in to work tomorrow and clear it for you if you haven't already done it.
