Trading in 2014 2LS for 2003 Corvette ZO6

Is this trade worth it? The dealer said he'd give me $23,000 for my camaro. The Corvette is 22000 with 44,000 miles

You are going from 315 HP to 405 HP. C5 is much smaller, will handle much better, but will get terrible gas mileage. These things also drive low and have very tight suspension. So it will be a rough ride and you will need to be careful not to scrape n curbs, inclines, driveways etc.

Those C5's also didn thave very desirable interior. It is a bad ass car, but you are dropping 11 model years.

Are you looking for a raw performance car?

Jermaine, you have to upload the pictures to a hosted service and then link them in the thread.

personally I would keep the 2014, but to each his own as usual. Pictures of both would help as well.

The Z06 is a very fun car and C5's are a very good value overall. That doesn't sound like a bad deal.

My only caution would be to think about why you bought your 2LS-- If it was because of a long commute, or a need for low operational costs, the Z06 isn't exactly an economical/practical car to own. Just make sure you're prepared for that!

If you do it, enjoy it, and be sure to post up pics!

My original plan was to mod my camaro, but I don't want to put a lot of money in my car just to lose the warranty. I also still owe money on my car, and dealer said that with a trade in I could possibly break even.

Trade you're almost new car for an overpriced $22,000 11 year old car with 44,000 miles on it? You've got to be kidding me.:doh::doh: ....... and no warranty on the Vette so mod away!

TPAJETSKI 07-08-2014 10:32 AM

I'm not sure of your situation but you may run into trouble finding a bank to finance something that old.

44k on an 11 year old car is very low. I would probably go with the vette.

Condition is key.

That could be 44,000 miles of sunny Sunday drives and winery tours with car clubs;

Or it could be 88,000 times down the 1/4 mile drags.

Not sure money wise? But, since we currently have both, I prefer my Camaro. Thinking about selling our 2002 Z06 (8k miles)........ we're going to lose our A$$!!

If you will be financing all or part of the Z06.... like "TPAJETSKI" said that could be a problem???

to be fair, you have a high horsepower supercharged v8 Camaro, while the OP has a bottom line LS v6. lol
