45th Stripe!!

Just want all of you to know where we got these stripes from. Off Ebay! These stripes were PERFECT fitting. I have nothing but good things to say about this seller. They sell all kinds of stripes. They use 3M 7+ year material and at around $110 for the set, this was a no brainer. They even threw in a extra set of extended length spoiler stripes so when we get our aftermarket spoiler ready to install. The name of the company is ProMotorStripes out of Cincinnati,Ohio. You want our need some stripe go check'em out.

First thing, Me and my wife did this together. Never have done these before but we did it. YEA!!! One of the most important things to do is keep the surface clean. Let me stress CLEAN!!! I used windex first, Goof Off, and then Denatured Alcohol. Paper towels.(whole roll) Take your time and allow yourself all day. Alignment is the next thing, please see the pics. you will need son 3",3/4", and 1/4" tape. And a tape measure. We wet both the surface and the decal so we could make our alignments. I will post pics along the way and some everyday to show the complete job, start to finish. Hope they will help someone here on Camaro 5 to get theres done.

Always check measurments not once but twice after you lay your stripe on surface. I just used the tape edges for close alignments. Always start in middle of stripe and work your way out to the edges. Place your sqeegee at a 90 degree angle when you start working in the trough of the hood. Work to the front of hood. Pick up the front of the decal at front and pull it frontward and outward while working you sqeegee at a 90 degree angle. Just take you time at all cost. If you do end up with a area that does not lay out and has a bubble, I found sticking a needle through the deacal and releasing the water and soap before pealing the outside layer worked best. Although it can still be do afterwards. You have less chance of scratching the deacal. Also your sqeegee glides easier if you keep the surface wet while working the decal to the surface. After you get the decal stuck to you liking, I wet the surface once again and let it set for about five minutes. It helped to make the outside pertective layer easier to peel off. Peel your outside layer off around the decal where your 1/4 part of the stripe is. Take your time here. It will try to lift off. After that you are home free. Just peel off the center as close to the surface as possible. Like you are draging it off. More to come!
