Revealed: 2014 Camaro 1LE and ZL1 Coupe and Convertible (First Looks)
16 Attachment(s)
Here's a first look at the 2014 ZL1 (coupe and convertible), as well as the 1LE. The 1LE gets the facelifted SS RS front and rear bumpers, while also receiving the new hood vents and maintaining the all-black hood look. These photos also show the new 1LE trunk spoiler, which looks to be shared with the ZL1. The ZL1 will retain its front fascia design, while incorporating the new facelifted rear design. Great pics. I wonder why the ZL1 doesn't get the new front end as well?
Also anyone have an idea why the ZL1 on the car carrier has a red sharkfin on the trunk? |
Awesome
|
The new front works pretty good with silver. The new hood vent definitely looks better with the flat black hood. The ZL1 looks strange with the current aggressive-looking front and then the so-plain 2014 back.
The new rear spoiler looks kind of nice. Would be interesting to know just how much aerodynamic effect it actually has compared to the old spoiler. So far on every car, every color, every picture I've seen of the new 2014 back I cringe when I see it. I WANT it to be exciting and good but unfortunately it just isn't. I hope they do something good with the 6th gen design. |
Kind of disappointed at the lack of a front splitter on the 1LE but it looks awesome. Must resist the temptation to change my order to SIM!
|
About time, I love the 1LE. Looks good with the black hood and vent. I will bordering one soon.
|
STILL waiting to see the SS without RS front end.
|
My brain needs time to reboot
:twitch: :dizzy: :doh: :bonk::frusty: |
thanks for sharing...pretty cool
|
But still I feel that this new front of the SS has something to do with performance :emoticon14:
|
Still don't like it. But I do wonder why the ZL1 doesn't have the new front fascia

Have to admit that I'm kind of shocked they left the front end of the ZL1 the same.
The new front end looks better in a lighter color than dark. Still, a couple simple tweaks would go a long way. |
NO NOT AWESOME....what the hell is that double spoiler crap on the back?!?! I thought it was for v6s only now it showed its ugly face on the 1LE AND the ZL1?!
if you dont know what im talking about look at the 1LE, you can see it easily because of the contrast in colors of the trunk "lip" and the spoiler. |
Good to see the pics. I will say the solid flat back hood with the new hood diffuser looks better. That's probably just because the diffuser is a lot more hidden that way.
Still.....I'm trying to be a little open minded but the back end with the horrible tail lights and the new rear diffuser.:thumbdown::barf: I still just don't get the change. I know there are people that are saying that those that don't like the new changes are just trying to justify not being able to afford an upgrade and all.....well, believe what you want. I can honestly say that there is no way I would buy a Camaro with the new styling. The only thing that I would really love to have would be the Recaro seats. That GM did right. I hope to be able to retrofit those in my car some day. |
Still so entirely unsure about the new rear. I will need to see it in person.

The "lip" will cause fitment issues with current aftermarket spoilers =(

I can honestly say now, that i do not like the new design, and I am glad I have the car I have..
|
That rear end reminds me of my 86' toyota Cressida.
|
The 1LE looks good. Liking the rear diffuser too. Can't wait to see in person. May change my outlook on getting a 14.

The more I see the new styling more I don't like it. The only car that pulls it off is the Z28.
The 6th gen can't come soon enough. |
Liking that spoiler:)
|
Tran,
Thank you for posting the pics. It looks like the '14s are designed to show off the exhaust more than prior years. |
Thanks for the photos btw

Crapppppp its growing on me! :sad0147:
I will retain my car but that front and rear is growing on me... |
The ZL-1 retains the same front end due to airflow, cooling, lift, etc.
With that said, I REALLY like the looks of the 1LE -I actually think it looks more agressive and more refined than the previous version. I also like the tail lights a lot. I agree that the rear diffusor looks odd but it will certainly NOT keep me from getting one (I am more excited now than ever). I've had my heart set on a ZL1 but i really like the new looks of the 1LE. GM may have just saved me some money as I really like the refresh... Now, I just need to see the color of the new "Yellow"... |
I liked all the front and side pics, then came the rear pics and I hated it again. :frown:
|
I don't mind the tail lights at all ,but the rear diffuser looks very bad on any color other than Black or grey. Not liking the chrome strip on the front either. What is the purpose of it. There is no other chrome on the entire car. Looks like a Walmart after thought. The more I see pics of this car in different colors the more I'm not liking the new design. They nailed the front end design with the Z/28. It's a shame that you have to pay a premium to get the good looking car. That's where the current GM failed where the late 60's GM didn't.
|
really really dont like that new back end, looks small to me and out of place
|
Is that chrome on the bottom of the rear lights? I need to see these in person.
|
Sigh...rear end ruined
