1997 Anniversary Z/28 convertinle SLP wheel question

I have a 1997 SS Z/28 SLP Anniversary convertible, 6K miles My question is regarding the 16" rims. The "SS" on the center caps are yellow and not red. The yellow SS is consistent on all 4 wheels and they do not appear to have faded. The "SS" does not stand out very well. Did yellow center caps come from SLP or should they be red. I do not believe the rims have ever been removed. Any thoughts? Thanks

Pretty sure the 30th Ann wheel center caps had orange lettering. Check out this ad. I think its a good chance that yours may have faded.

Should be orange, maybe they are just faded??

They came painted orange (to match the dual hood stripes) originally. They were notorious for fading after getting exposed to any real weather/washing. Must have been repainted -why yellow I wonder?

I've seen the bowties on a lot painted ZR1 wheels look almost pink. I always figured it was from exposure to the sun or maybe the effects of a wheel cleaner. The wheels on my 98 SS have only been cleaned with car soap and water and they still look like new, so the letter discoloring must be from something in its environment.

Above mentioned is correct. My car has 10k miles and the "SS" lettering in the center caps has worn off/turned to yellow as well. Mine has occurred from over washing. The white wheels are tough to keep clean inside and out so I wash them every time I get the car out. I have replacements, but have not had the wheels off since I got them.
