2009 Cadillac CTS-V Pricing Announced

So besides all the boring GM industry news and Cadillac’s CEO departing with the brand to go join HUMMER, here is some fun and exciting news. GM has announced the pricing on the new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V with sales set to begin on Nov.1

That’s right - on Nov1. you can buy the car that Clarkson thinks smashes the M5 and that InsideLine says is faster and sharper than the E 63 AMG and the BMW M5. Not to mention you will end up owning the fastest sedan to ever go around the famous Nurburgring in Germany and you can be proud to say it’s American.

Okay enough with all that. Pricing for the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V starts at $59,995. That’s not too shabby when comparing it to the BMW M5 that starts at $85,100 and the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG that starts at $88,575. Now go enjoy the high-res pics after the jump.

Nope, AMAZING would have been if it cost $59,992. Amazing would have been $59,993, and very good would have been $59,994. Anything over $60,000 (msrp) for that kind of car is a royal ripoff.

yea i was really hoping to keep it under 59k.... :iono:

i guess its a prius for me!

Thats alot cheaper than i thought it would be...

^Yeah, I was really hoping for Amazing, because very good was too expensive, and AMAZING would have caused GM to sell it at a loss, sooo Amazing is very good.

I love the new CTS, but I think GM has under-priced the CTS-V and I think the lack of a LS3-powered version to slot between the V6 models and the current CTS-V is a serious oversight. The lack of concern for a competitive counterpart to V8-powered German rivals like the BMW 540 at Cadillac really surprises me. A LS3-powered CTS-V starting at 49,999 and a LSA-powered CTS-V 'plus' (Call it CTS-VR, CTS-V Super...I don't care) for 25k more would have moved more units overall and made far more sense IMO.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT! There should have been a LS3 CTS with available AWD. The DI V6 should have been the base engine and the LS3 should have been the optional engine instead.

the high feature engine is being phased out, and the DI will be the Base engine for the CTS.

i wouldnt mind having a ls3 CTS-V, but i dont think you guys realize what having the fastest Sedan Does....Bragging rights. in the computer parts business it is all about having the Fastest part even if it is more expensive then your competition because if you make the best part people by your lesser products because they think your quality and performance trickles down to your lesser products. So the CTS-V is now the fastest sedan around the Nurburgring, they advertise that and then give you the chance to buy a lesser car with the same heritage. so people feel that they can have a car with an amazing pedigree so they buy it.

You want to see rip-off? Wait until the Canadian pricing comes out!

If I had lots of dough, it would be on my list.

I too wondered why there isn't a cts between the 300 hp 3.6 V6 and the 550 hp LSA. I don't know if you guys have heard but word is from Leftlane is that they might make a CTS with a Turbo Diesel. 310 hp but wait for it... 520 ft lbs of torque!

Here's the rest of it. http://www.leftlanenews.com/report-c...el-in-cts.html

in 2012, the 2009 and 2010 CTS-Vs are going to be the best used cars you can get for the money... and while I probably wont get one, I'm going to steer every sedan buying customer I can towards one so I can borrow it... lol
