A few reasons i got the 2SS NO RS

1. halogen will match the fog/day time lights

2. they help keep the muscle look rather than European/import HIDs

3. dont need the midnight wheels, getting aftermarket Billet soon

4. getting custom tint on brake lights and reverse

Everyone raves about the HIDs and they do look neat, just not for me, saving the 1200 for other goodies!!

I chose Halogens due to #1 and #2. (#2 especially)

Sounds like some people are confusing halos, halogens, and HIDs?!

not 100% on this but i believe if you get the polish wheels you get a discount on the RS package to take off the price of the MS painted wheels

Uhh...Not true. Still cost me $1200.00 + $400.00 for the polished wheels. Would have been nice if they had though. GM isn't giving away any frehbies.

Remember if you get a non-RS car and want a little more light, you can always buy some Silverstar Ultra bulbs. While not HID's, they are still better than standard halogens.

ok cool i didn't know if they would subtract the price like they do for the spoiler

The halogens are GREAT! Especially with the foglights on! Very bright, very even lighting WITHOUT that annoying HID glare!

On top of that, I don't have the added weight of the rest of the RS package!

ALLT4 08-26-2009 06:22 PM

Didn't like the Halo lights, didn't care for the darker wheels, I like the stock ones on the SS better, would have liked the darker tail lights but not for $1200.00 It's all a personal thing.

Haven't regretted my decision at all, in fact after seeing the RS wheels I know I made the right decision.

As someone else said if Siverstar ultras are available that's good enough, run them in everything else and the difference is quite noticeable. For now though even the stock lights seem adequate. I'm just lazy and havent looked around for different lights.

I like em both, get what you want, I wouldn't let 1200 hold me back one way or the other.

i think i speak for every RS package owner. once u had a vehical with hids its very hard to go without it. belive me every thing about hids is 10x better than halogens. not only are they safer for u but they are less blinding for other drivers. plus the halos look damn well evil around dusk time.
sure the halogen headlight match the old skool muscle car look, but rember the old camaros never had fog lights.

not to mention with the rs package u get red letters :P

This is what I think..

I got the 2SS with out the RS..

I do like the halos though/...

The Halos make the car look like it has eyes to match the grille grin..

But the Regular Halogens makes the car look like it wants to kick your but..

And the regulars make it look more muscle car to me.. JMO though..

In the end Halo's are cool, just not for me or worth the extra 1200$ i could use on something else!

i got the RS, because i got a 2LT.
i like the HIDs, the 19's, the spoiler, the roof molding, and the tail lights.

BlemsBumble 08-26-2009 10:40 PM

This was the easiest decision to make when I ordered the car. I prefer the look of the HIDs (and they do provide better light) but the Halogens are good enough. I could care less about body-colored roof ditch moldings or dark taillight plastic. So, for this buyer, the extra expense made no sense.

The money I could have spent on that will be used to upgrade the exhaust--it needs it.

Back in grade school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help the good Sisters of the Order of St. Francis said that angels got their halos when the Lord thought they had finished their good deeds.
So unless you are an angel who has finished doing their good deeds, don't go around expecting to get your halos - on your Camaros or elsewhere.....

I'm fine without them and I see just fine at night. I ride with the fog lights on too so that helps. Save the $1200 for something else.
