14 2 SS/RS Splitter options, I have been searching.

Hi, I have been searching, a lot of threads are old and the items are not available anymore. What are some nice options for these cars? I have the Zl1 Rims and Side skirts. Car is lowered a 1inch, not looking for anything that sticks way out. Do I color match it to the car or leave it Black Plastic?

Thanks

I've been searching for days,I see Ebay has a bunch that look good for a good price but I can't read reviews. I want one that looks and fits great. I don't want to have to modify it. I'll check out the links. I don't want to loose to much ground clearance. Also I am not sure if I want the support Rods or not.

For fitment issues stay away from any that are made of Duraflex, they need some tweaking usually to make them fit. And if your car is not lowered adding a front splitter won't change the ride height but maybe 1/2 inch or so if that. And as for the splitter support rods, you won't need them at all unless you plan on going over 150mph for any time racing. Personally I think they look tacky unless they are there for functionality and the car actually needs them. Happy hunting..

I would really like to have a GM Splitter from hat I am reading an dseeing but they are hard to find,

I don't mind this one but have read that some people have had issues with them breaking if hit wrong, I understand certain hits but some say just from scraping pulling into a driveway.

That's a nice looking splitter. As for it getting broken just from hitting something, you'd have to of hit it pretty hard to break it. I have CF hydro dipped fiberglass splitter on my Camaro and have bumped things, scraped it on driveways, the bottom of it of course and haven't broken one yet. This is the third glass splitter of different styles I have had on the Camaro and haven't broken one yet. The front facsia give a little if you do happen to hit a kinda deep dip in a drive way, mine does and kinda protects the splitter. I only have about 3-4 inches clearance between mine and the ground.

That's what I was kinda thinking,I may get that one unless others post up some ideas. I wish the GM one wasn't so hard to find.

I think I am going to get the ACS Splitter with the front deflectors, I am not sure if I should get it painted ( Satin Black is the option they offer ) or primed, I want it to match the OEM ZL1 Rocker plastic color and the rest of the plastic on the car. I was hoping to find a slightly cheaper option ( their 10-13 option is a lot cheaper ). But I don't mind paying for quality. I do have concerns with scraping a lot.

Cool. I would leave it the color it comes, no primer. That will match your rockers better than if you painted it matte black, I think. You should be ok with not scraping it much since you are only lowered 1 inch, I'm down 1.4 and sometimes scrape on funky road transitions to driveways. And like me, I don't mind paying for good quality..

They only offer 2 choices Primed or Satin Black for an extra $149. I am going to call them and see which would match the best. I don't think I want it body colored.

Ordered Satin Black Splitter and front deflectors. About a 2 to 3 week wait. I know I have to drill holes, If I decide to remove it down the road am I going to see these holes from in front or side of car? Or only when looking under it? Thanks

Oh boy. If you get it primered you would still have to paint it because the primer will wear off pretty quickly whereas the Satin color probably would match your rockers better. I bought my first splitter ever way back when and only had it primered, and it looked like crap but I had a shop anyway that I was having it painted cheaper than the company I bought it from so it didn't matter. They don't offer it "unpainted of unprimered"??
