Gen 5 vs gen 6?

How much better is The gen 6 SS compare to the gen 5 SS camaro?
Is it worth the extra money?

Thank you

A little better performance wise, a little worse when it comes to looks. Cant beat a Gen5 in the looks department unless you go with a gen1.

I think a solid Gen 5 SS with some money for mods would be better than a stock gen 6 - so worth the money is up to you and how badly you want to keep the warranty.

The gen 6 ss is a significant performance upgrade over the 5th gen ss.. Less weight, handles better, stops better, faster in a straight line, faster around a track stock vs. stock. The interior of the 6th gen is much improved over gen5 as well. Styling is subjective, so that's up to your personal taste.

In short, Yes, the gen6 is absolutely worth the money

Put the 6th gen drivetrain in the 5th gen body style. The 5th gen was a huge hit for reason. The fanfare just isnt there for the 6th gen. But current tech is nice to have.

Really hard question to answer honestly. I love my 15' Z/28 but the new 6th Gen hyper-blue SS is simply beautiful. And the all new 2016 sleek, well designed interior-cockpit is very nice. I'm waiting on the 2018 ZL1-1LE (Camaro finally gets a real-deal Wing!) before I make any hasty decisions. But I'm keeping my Z forever.

Id keep a z28 forever too - that doesn't seem to be a very difficult decision to make lol

yea lol

Been toying with the idea of a new 1le but it didn't drive any better than my 2010. But my car is heavily modified. I prefer the looks of mine hands down. I like the mag ride and headroom on the new car but back seat legroom is pathetic. My car is paid for so it wasn't worth the extra cash to buy it

Most of these answers are going to be opinion driven. Every generation will have new and better features than the previous generation. How much better is in the eye of the beholder and EXTREMELY subjective.

With all the performance mods available, it simply boils down to which one you think looks better.

I agree 100%. You can mod any car to make it out handle or out run anything in a straight line. The paper racers get cought up in stock numbers. The real racers just mod their cars to beat the paper racers.

I don't understand how the 6 is 300 pounds light with 30 more horse and cuts nearly a second off 0-60

Well interior wise the 6th gen kills the 5th gen lol

I like alot of different cars. But to me the 6th gen blends in very well with alot of cars on the road. The rear end is just plain. When people see my cat they know its a Camaro.....the 6th gen doesnt get thay respect.
