Yes, yes you can. I had ZL1 running through my mind on that one...not what could fit. Thanks. ;)

You will change the handling characteristic by putting those larger tires on and not for the better.

They did this size on the 1LE to get rid of the understeer.

GM put wider 285 tires all the way around on the 1L3 to Improve handling. And recent tests on track have proven this. .... I mean...your concept of losing handling by having skinnier tires is beyond me....lol ...unless you meant something else... |
No, what I think he is talking about is putting the wider 305's or 315's on will mess with the handling, not the 285's that it comes with. Which is probably true from what I read on why they chose the set up it comes with.
I'll have a few different sets of wheels to test various set ups and see what works best for my driving style. |
You do lose traction by having skinnier tires...or is that a typo?
And I thought the max size tire you could put on a 10" wide wheel was a 265 or 275... |
Gm is using the 285 tires all the way around because it is the best autocross set up for the car. Yes they did this for a reason. Eventually, I would like to have 315 in the rear and 285 up front. But for now, I want to 285 all the way around.
