Well last night I sent a message to a San Jose Dealership asking about the new camaro and fleet discounts. Courtesy Chevrolet has stated they will give a fleet discount, but hasn't answered the MRSP or Below question straight up yet. I'm talking with one of the managers and they seem willing to work with us, but I'm going to find out if it's the real deal or just another dealer schpeal.

Wow that rhymed and I wasn't even trying...

Still no Florida dealers? Or did I miss something skimming through 3 pages.

There should be a few dealers in the Tampa or Orlando area willing to sell for MSRP? You would hope.

But, if I called saying I had 3 or 4 buyers, they could probably give us a really good deal...probably. So, we'd need everyone we could get. This sounds like a freaking GREAT idea!!! Could you imagine? All 4 or 5 of us place orders at the same time to take delivery at the same time?!?! I'd LOVE to make this happen! I'll even wait a little longer to make sure it COULD happen for all the members who wanted to order at the same time.

Add me to that SA pool!

SoCal members-- Definitely DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Singh Chev in Riverside. They mark up ALL of their cars (Try $40k markup on the vette Z06). Also very unhelpful staff all around. I tried to buy a silverado there a year ago and didnt get any help from anyone there. Instead I went to Tustin, that's a pretty good autoplex there.

This place is awesome, no haggling, dealers don't work off of commission. They were the first in the Dayton/Cincinnati area with a HHR SS and it had a sticker of 25,225 and they had the "Only Price" for $23,112

When they had a C6 Convertible, they had over 8k knocked off of it.

I can attest to this dealer - I sent them an email last month, asking two things:

1. Can I order a Camaro with money down and get a full refund if I change my mind?

2. What is your intent with pricing when the Camaro comes out?

I got an affirmative "yes" to question one, and the answer to question two was "we will never mark the price of a car up, no matter what demand is. We never have, and never will. Not even on high end Corvettes. When the Camaro information is officially released, please email us again and we look forward to working with you."

Miamisburg is about a 4 hour drive south of Cleveland, but it looks like I may order my baby from them.

So, anybody heard anything from a dealer around the Ozarks area (southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas)? How about KC? St. Louis?

I shot an e-mail to Mayse Automotive in Aurora, MO where I got my goat but all I got back in response was "we don't know what the pricing will be on the Camaros yet".

I received some good info from a sales manager that said he had been at a meeting recently and said the coupe is expected to be on the lots second quarter (aprox. April thru June), and the vert will be after that starting end June begin July. I also heard from another manager that they will start taking orders in November for the Spring. this same guy also told me that the plan is to have 80% V8's and 20% V6's. the V6 option will be the same 3.6L that is in the CTS and he said all V8's that roll out next year will be the LS2, but to expect the LS3 the next year. (sigh a whole year longer  ) This guy also kept right on going and told me that GM just retrademarked the name Chevelle :eyebulge: !! and he believes that the departing of the Monte that we just may hear rumors or see a new Chevelle  . well pitch in what ya think cuz this is will be interesting!! ok now hear are some dealers names to go to in WA (i'm not even close to done but its a start for now...)

if you go to the dealer with your mind set that you won't pay higher than msrp is it possible to talk the dealer down to your price? is it likely a dealer will drop his price if you stay firm on your pay expectations? and is it possible to do all this on day one of production purchase or is it something you'll need to work on over time to wait for the dealer to realize you know what you're doing?

Mindz 06-12-2008 06:10 AM

You won't be able to just do it like that unless you've done it before. It's an art. Some dealers will break, others will just laugh at you. It's partly skill, but mostly if the dealer is an ass or not.
