Because it has D.E. HOF, also #3 on wheels, picture of Dale SR, and and a picture on the hood of Dale Sr

There were about ten of those tribute cars made by I believe Dale Earnhardt's Chevy dealership right after the 5th gen came out. There was a guy on C5 back then who bought two of them if I remember right.

for that kind of money you could get a ZL-1 and have a good bit left over...

True, but it wouldn't have been owned previously by the legend either. Some things in life have more value than it being "just a car". I wouldn't buy it either at that price, but someone will surely want to add it to their collection.

Definitely Sr and Definitely over priced , i can't see a sticker and paint package bring in that type of money . Now if it had a factory installed LS7 it may be worth it .

Dale Sr. could not possibly have owned this car. He passed away on the track near the end of the 2001 Daytona 500.

A very sad day in the world of NASCAR.

That said, it's a very stupid amount of money for a badged up car, one of ten or not. But I'd bet somebody will pay it sooner or later.

Didn't know a ghost could own a car. :twitch: He has been dead for over 16 years.

One of the guys here on the island brings his to our meet ups. It's a great looking car but not worth that kind of money.
