I just jumped ship...

And traded-in my '02 Z28 for a new '08 Malibu LTZ the dealer still had on the lot. Red Jewel Tintcoat with the Cocoa/Cashmere leather interir and all the bells and whistles except the DVD headrests or the power accessory package. It has the 3.6L and the six-speed slushbox and I like it so far. She's got only 40 on the clock so I have some breaking in to do. I think I'll just be adding tint and otherwise leave her stock for now.
I'm sad to see my Z28 go. This is the first time in almost 12 years that I haven't had a Z28. In fact, but for less than two years of my driving life, I've driven a Z28 (the first one was my dad's '94). I'm pretty sad about letting my baby go but we've got a lease return next week on my wife's 2.5 Jetta and she didn't want to drive my '02 or my '93 4Runner, so I let her pick the color and she liked this car so it was done. I figured if I'm going to wait a few years and see if a new Z28 comes back, I'm going to need to make sure she's in a car she's happy with, considering how much I'll need to spend in order to get the car I want. It's a big sacrifice for me as I always considered my Z28s as my identity (as much as my wife did too) but I need an SS if there's no Z28 so I figured I'd suck it up for a few years. I stayed GM though :D:chevy::wave: |
Great choice!
I hope.....I know you'll enjoy it! :D |
Nice car brother good luck with it.

Congrats! I also thought of getting a 2008 Malibu LTZ if my Camaro plans fail!
|
Thanks guys. I'm sure I'll enjoy it too. At least I still have a little power under the right foot, LOL.
If you haven't looked at one, I'd consider it if you're in the market. I probably could've jumped into a LS Camaro but the wife needed a car more than I (I'm happy with my beater 4Runner - she hates driving it though, LOL). It's got a lot of seat adjustments and a lot of nice little touches. I have to say the interior is definately not bland by any standard and fit and finish are very good. I haven't gone over it with a fine-tooth comb but I did get some stuff on my Due Bill that I wanted addressed (just really minor lot damage). It doesn't have as many little details and amenities as the Jetta, but most of those weren't of much value to me, and you can't even get them on current model Jettas, so my wife is pretty much 100% happy with this car. I have to admit I love how it looks ;) |
hey get the wife's car out of the way and save a huge down payment for yours.
thats my plan. i hope to get every opetion available on a 2015 mustang GT and only finance 25k. |
That malibu is a nice car.
|
Oh man!
I have withdrawal when I can't drive my 1998 Z28 for more than a few days and I could NEVER imagine trading it in, EVER! Well, at least you stayed GM and gave another lucky person the chance to own a 4th Gen :) |

And you can get them for $200 under invoice! |

Radz, Tough call brother. But a real nice car. Well done! Great choice. The camaro is just a little way away. In the meantime the Maly is a Nice choice! |

Malibu is a great car! You had me worried though when you said you jumped ship. Because I thought that meant you left GM and got, ugh, a mustang. That was litterally the first thing that popped into my mind.
The Z28 will return. I still have faith! |
