I've silently been dealing with a lot of the same issues others on here are experiencing. I came across this thread on Saturday after finally getting frustrated enough to remember to come in the house and search around for it. I called the dealer on Monday to complain about the issues and see if I could get it updated. They told me no problem. I dropped it off at 7:30 this morning at by 10:30 they had called me and said the found the update from GM and reflashed my PDIM. I picked it up this afternoon and found it has been updated to CC CE (up from CB CC).

I haven't driven it long enough to get a feel for how much better it works. I did notice that it sill has to index my ipod nano (6th gen). I only have about 6G on it and it indexes in about 30 seconds. Has anyone else seen the same thing with any of the newer generation ipods?

That code CC CE is the same one that came with my car and from what I've seen from posts here it's not new. I haven't had any problems with mine.:iono:

Well, it didn't take long but I already have the same problems as before. Looks like I'll be going back to see if I can get the module replaced.

Cat,
I just went ahead and replaced the updated moduel and firmware for GTAHVIT. What you probably have is the old MMIM (Mutli Media Interface Module). The new one has been dubbed as PDIM (Personal Device Interface Module) and the firmware will update it to the new codecs.
After a run-around with TAC and them saying it was current, I just replaced it without all the red tape, (aka bean-counters) As far as I know it fixed it. What say ye GTAHVIT?

Good to go.

I didn't have to upgrade the os on the Itouch... Mine has a bad habbit of getting that static when the battery is low... I charged it up rebooted it plugged it in and good to go. NO problems displying my playlists or the song title.. it remembers what mode you had it in... using BT doesn't drop the ipod when I hang up. Much better.

thanks Mike!

I finally got my dealer to replace the pdim and I verified the hardware/software versions are now DA/DX. And.........SAME PROBLEMS AS BEFORE! I can't believe that problems reported to GM by me and others back in 2009 are still not resolved. I have dumped hundreds of dollars into this issue, made numerous trips to my dealer and contacted Microsoft. I have done everything I could think of. I tested multiple devices and shared the info on this forum. There are only a couple of ipod versions that work properly and all other devices have problems (including those on GM's list of supported devices). I am so frustrated by GM's lack of response to this issue; they are clearly not prepared to support this type of technology. GM really needs to stop claiming they support these devices.

i have cc/ce and my pdim would work with my old 4gb smasung yp-p2. the first time i would plug it in it would show no supported media and just charge, however if i unplugged it and then plugged back in it would index for about 5 seconds and work perfectly while charging. Now my new player a 16gb phillips gogear muse will not show up at all no matter how many times i mess with it.

Be forewarned that the update is going to take a while (Camaro1 reported a 50 minute update) so you may only want to do this update if you have been experiencing problems.

If anyone gets the update, keep us posted on if it improves the operation.

i have given up on this matter. I am getting DA/DX installed by a different dealer, but as i can see, there are still issues with that module too. Anyway, I am closing the book on this issue, I will just deal with it.

As for those that got DB/DB installed into your 2010, good for you and I hope that fixed your problems. You at least had an understanding dealer service rep. Not sure how they were able to do it under warranty, as both dealers I have talked to about this issue have told me that Warranty would kick back the DB/DB module for 2010 vehicles.

I just checked mine and it was CB/CC. I don't have a bunch of problems with my Itouch 8G but I do have some. I was going to go to the dealer to get them to flash the new software but should I have them get the new PDIM. Also, what is the difference between the DA/DX and the DB/DB?

I honestly think for a little over $100 it is just easier to purchase it, replace it on your own and call it a day.

Does the DB/DB version fix the issue where the iPod loses the song it was playing after restarting the car?

My iPhone does this when I close the iTunes program. Quite annoying...

Thanks
