1LE MPG......

Hey Guys,

im just curious to see what everyone is getting for average mpg. i know its different based on the type of driving, location, style etc....i know the gear ratio is more agressive but i averaged right around 19.5 in my 2012 ss
i have a hard time getting over 16 mpg in my i drive the 2 cars exactly the same i just didnt expect that big of a change. Trust me i could care less if it got 5 i didnt by it to be economical or fuel effiecent :w00t: but i think it would be cool to see everyones numbers just to compare and if you had another camaro before the 1le what are your opinions ?

stats 15.8 mpg average type of driving is spirited mainly on highway and back roads 5100 miles on the car now

OnStar remote link says I'm at 17, but I just did 400 miles of highway driving. I think I was 15-16 before that with mostly city driving. Both are better than my Ram, so no complaints!

15 but I have a heavy foot.

ghostrider77 05-08-2013 08:38 AM

12.5

Anything above 14.5 with just stop and go driving and you should be in a honda. :-)

MY 2011 LS3 with headers intake and a tune got about the same. But it was also convertible and had 21s.

Averaging 16 according to my onstar app. I have exactly 500mi on mine

13 mpg

Onstar says 17 mpg lifetime average. Current tankfull is almost 19 mpg. Mostly during the week, I drive to and from work which is 35% highway and 65 city. If there's a Mustang or a Challenger around, the mileage is much worse...not sure why...:noidea:

19.3 with to/from work so far. I've somehow managed to resist heavy foot driving all the time. This 'sex-on-wheels' gets better gas mileage than my old Armada. And lets be honest, I didn't pick either vehicle for its MPG. I just like turning heads. :) That's easier to do if I'm not smokin the tires.

If you look at the gear ratios between a regular ss and a 1LE, in 6th gear you are running a slightly lower rpm than a ss. I thought it would be the other way around, but due do the difference in the tranny ratios it should actually be a tick better on gas.

MM6 w/ 3.91
1st gear ratio: 2.66 10.42
2nd gear ratio: 1.78 6.97
3rd gear ratio: 1.30 5.09
4th gear ratio: 1.00 3.91
5th gear ratio: 0.74 2.90
6th gear ratio: 0.50 1.96

M10 w/ 3.45
1st gear ratio: 3.01 10.38
2nd gear ratio: 2.07 7.14
3rd gear ratio: 1.43 4.93
4th gear ratio: 1.00 3.45
5th gear ratio: 0.84 2.90
6th gear ratio: 0.57 1.97

Mine says 16 after almost 700 miles but thats almost all city driving and I like the exhaust note so I'm sure that doesn't help.

On the highway it probably is a tad bit better but in the city not so much.

19.5

Typically around town I average 15 to 18 mpg just depending on how hard I drive, but I went to visit my mom last weekend and I reset my mpg avg before I left and it did not drop below 25 on the highway cruising at 75, 2k miles at the time. I was very pleased with this as I figured I would be getting about 22-23 but I'm not worried about mpg, just thought I would share for the OP's sake.
