Dr ColorChip.com
I have a small rock chip on the side of my door and I have been seeing ads on TV for them has any one tried them out or should I just buy a touch up bottle from the dealer ? Here is there site http://www.drcolorchip.com/select-pr...color=on&year=

I've tried it and it works great. You can't even tell where you made the touch up. It's better than touch up paint because it doesn't have the bump you have to sand to get even.

I'll give it a try just placed a order.

I've used it as well. Definitely recommended.

That was a pretty bad set of scratches on the splash guards of my LS. I used the Dr Colorchip kit and was very happy with the results. The picture was after the very first application and you can still barely see the damage. After a few coats were applied and I polished it up it was almost unnoticable unless you gut up close. The issue will still be there but you will have to look hard to see it.

I used this as well. It won't create miracles of course, but I would say it is the best possible touch up solution you can buy.

i wasn't blown away by these kits. I think the paint on a black and red jewel car is too thin/ I had much better luck with a micro paint brush and regular touch up paint. the whole leveling out technique isn't what they make it appear because once you use that clear solution the chip is more obvious. TV and Photos can deceive you with regards to this paint chip stuff so try it yourself and see what method works best.

I agree with 55 not happy with the product on my black car

it works great on my IOM, I have taken care of close to 50 chips this summer and last, I can barely tell where they are.

H2,
Please give us a blow by blow of your method of sucess with this product. Once on the surface and smeared, how long do you wait before using the solution to level the chip. This is where it seeems to fail as most of the paint pulls out of the chip area leaving enough color behind to hide the primer but not level enough for a good blend. |
