Reverse lights.. Before and after
Before.....
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/atampa18.jpg After... http://members.cox.net/diarmadhi/backuplightafter.jpg okokok, yes its a horrible photoshop... but i think it gets my point across... With these thinline LED backuplights.. you can mount them in the lower diffuser and have a body shop patch/fill/paint the factory location smooth... oh and the link to the lights.. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...4_1979_1841381 Thinline LED Back Up / Utility Light * Operates 9-16 Volt DC Systems * 11 Superbrite white LED's * 100,000 Hours of Service life * Sonically Sealed Polycarbonate Housing * Energy Draw 250 Miliamps * Mounted Vertical,Horizontal or 45 Degree * Space/Channel Saver Design * 15.50 x 1.625 x .750 Link Here's a Corvette for reference: http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6...ghtspx8.th.jpg |
100X Better!!!! But maybe GM thought it was to Vetteish.

150 dollars for a pair is asking a little much though. I won't be able to afford those....
at least right off the bat... |

Just a suggestion. Cheers. |

That is a great chop! I can't even tell the reverse lights were taken out of the bumper. Looks great. If I were GM, that's how I would have done it.
And that picture DOES take forever to download...bout two min for my computer...here's another...should be quicker. |
This would be a cool option granted that it didn't add too much to the cost of the vehicle. And by option I mean alternative to where they are now, not an option like sunroof and such haha. Wouldn't this add to repair costs though? If someone as much as nudges you in the rear bumper those lights are gonzo. At least in the position they are in now the lip of the bumper gives a tad of cushion.

http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6...ghtspx8.th.jpg EDIT: Here's my (VERY) rough chop of how they might look in the diffuser, Vette style. http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/4...testem9.th.jpg PS -Mods, would you consider showing this image, full-sized, next to the "after" pic for comparison? Thanks. EDIT: I'd be happy for what we see on the pre-pro models also! But, it's great that we can make suggestions before things are set in stone! IMO, the lights in the rear diffuser or vents would definitely up the "Mean Factor" considerably! -Jim |
I like that look and idea a lot better. At least if they stay with this design they won't be too big and stand out too much.

For future reference, to get the picture full sized, it's all a matter of the coding. when you copy the 'link' into your post, it looks like this: {URL}yaddayadda {IMG}blahblahblah{/IMG}{/URL} delete the bold. And you're golden. |
I'd still like to see the reverse lights integrated into the tail lights, a la 1st gen.

Well, I don't think any changes are going to happen from GM...based on what we've heard/seen, I'd say it's pretty much set.
But, if an aftermarket company will come out with a "concept-like rear bumper", combine that with your idea of the LED's and placement....damn, I'd bet a lot of people would be really happy with that setup. |
