I can't wait till long tube headers and 3" back :)

Sent from the road.

I'm assuming that such mod will most definitely void the warranty huh?

TPAJETSKI 10-31-2013 10:30 AM

Best money I ever spent. Mine is an LS3 so I don't get a lot of drone, but with the L99 (or whatever the auto version is) you may experience some. I for one think it is much better than spending close to a grand for the GM NPP system. (although I'm sure the delete is not nearly as classy and refined.)

P.S. It's exactly why some Corvettes have a dual mode exhaust. At more than 25% throttle and higher than 3500 RPM's the exhaust bypass mode opens...allowing for the Corvette to have the best of both worlds.

I've heard some Camaros have this as well, lol.

I don't believe so. Even a header install with high flow cats and cat back exhaust doesn't effect the power train warranty unless you through in a tune.....just my understanding however.

Muffler delete is the only mod I have so far. Not loud at all, acutally kinda quiet. No change in performance, I did start averaging .1mpg better fuel economy...

ZL1? Sweet, didnt know.

Does it open at take off and close at high speed?

-or-

Does it stay closed at take off and open at high speed? (my vote)

Apparently, Chevrolet gets it.

Muffler delete from magnaflow with solo hi flow...no drone. http://youtu.be/U6MB4yUwVKA

It's an Inexpensive way to achieve a nice V8 rumble and lose the factory muffler weight.

Dumb question dept: Does the muffler delete have any effect at the DEQ for smog check when renewing license plates?

Works like the vette. Not sure of actual throttle % and rpm, though. Most of us pulled the fuse to it so it stays open all the time, though. Or you can buy a Mild to Wild switch w/remote so you can control it yourself, or program it to a home link switch.
BTW, NPP exhaust is an option on SS and some, if not all V6 models.

I cut mine off and put on axle back from Solo with J pipes. Love the sound.

This is what I'm leaning towards. I hear the J pipes practically eliminate drone.
