BMR Trailing Arms (Bushing Kit)?
Hi. I wanna purchase the BMR trailing arms. My question: is it necessary for me to buy the extra BMR Bushing Kit?
I drive a: 2010 Camaro SS A6 CAI High Flow Cats Axle Back Exhaust Custom Tune I will take it down the track probably a dozen times next summer utilizing drag radials (bucket list type thing) then probably sell it. I'm at maybe 460HP/475TQ at the crank/engine (not rear wheels) Right now I have no wheel hop |
Not necessary. But will only help with the wheel hop. Would definitely look into cradle bushings and toe links.

If you are installing trailing arms, take the time and replace the outer bushings with some poly ones.

Since you'll have the trailing arms off anyway, theres really no better time to do the outer bushings. Not to mention they are very inexpensive and cost effective. Its all about eliminating the weak links in your suspension. For cradle bushings, I highly recommend Pegasus solid cradle bushings. Heres a photo of mine, taken from my Diy thread.

Oh, do I need to get a special tool to get the old bushings out and install the new bushings? |

Equipment needed for Outer Trailing Arm bushing removal:
5 inch puller Ratchet 3/8 inch drive 3 inch extension 3/8 drive - helps to clear the lower control arm, otherwise your ratchet will get in the way 13mm socket 3/8 to 1/2 inch adapter Utility knife Make sure you cut the excess rubber of the bushing that is outside so that you can clamp your puller onto the spindle. You'll see what i mean when you get in there. The adapter will stay in place and even if it spins when you start to put pressure on the bushing, its not like a nut, which will travel up the puller as you twist the bolt. (If that makes sense) If you don't put anything on the puller bolt, it will go right through the bushing ferule and not push at all. Looks like I need to do another diy write-up perhaps...:) See photos to see what the puller looks like. Its better to rent it...I haven't had a use for it since I did those bushings.. |
