2010 camaro should i buy this
Hey all,new to this site and am glad the wait is over for the camaros return i need a opinion, open to all I have a 2010 camaro 2lt/rs am looking to buy(i know v-6,lets get over it for now) The car was salvage/flood,its at a small dealer that bought it at auction to bring in customers(he said it worked) but would sell it Hes had it for a yr and drove it 500 miles The flood happened 2010 august I checked it out once,no smell or dampness, dont think it got in dash but did get to trunk Ran a carfax, and of course said flood title/salvage,said it was one owner Im not a big fan of salvage titles but the car is nice.Only body damage is front lower where wrecker picked it up,very minor The car is loaded, with RS, orange leather inserts, guages, auto tap shift and only 1800 miles Plan on driving it tomorrow, just having a hard time passing it up He wants 19k for it
He will take my 96 z vert 95k miles in trade for 14k differance and tax Give me your thoughts I dont plan on selling it,just driving the wheels off it What do you think and what should i worry about Thanks |
seems risky but a great price i would try to talk him down even lower.maybe have som1 else look at the car to make sure its ok
|
I would stay away from any vehicle without a clean title, you have to remember, its not going to be easy to resell it. Personally I would not do it, but thats just me.
|
Quick question, when you say "flood" what do you mean by that? The whole car was under water?

Ok well anyways. If it does mean what i think it means, stay away from it! Water gets everywhere. I guarantee you in a month or 2 of daily driving, the engine will give out.
Source: my dad buys alot of cars from auctions and sells them. I gave it a try, bought a dodge neon for $4000, says only problem was flood, car looked in perfect condition, couldnt tell anything was wrong with it at all! 2-3 months later. Engine breaks down, never got it to work again. My advice from past experience, do not buy no matter how good the deal sounds Sent from my DROID3 |
I wonder if it's the same camaro posted here a year ago of a flood. Any way it sounds to risky I would over look this one and get one that has a clear title.
|
I say do not.
|
No.
Once the wire harnesses get wet, it becomes a never ending nightmare. I saw a nice SS In the classifieds for $25,500. The LT deals in your price range have to be out thre. |
I agree with everyone else, stay away from a flood car/ salvage title. There are other deals out there with clean titles.
|
Thanks for all the replies The reason behind this I have the cash to put with it no bank no payments Of course i want a ss, but i do have a iroc with a 454 that should run better than 13.00(it better)and would like just a nice cruiser, and with gas going up all the time and a thirsty silverado, its just made since to buy v-6 How well do they run by the way

V6 Camaro is great.
Salvage title might even be ok for the right price. But NOT if the reason for the salvage title is for flood damage. |
I'm not worried about salvage titles EXCEPT for flooded vehicles. It's an electrical nightmare waiting to happen if it isn't already.
|
Nope, Never buy flood, Wrecked.

OP: STAY AWAY FROM THAT DEAL!!! |
V6 owner and happy as HELL gets 30mpg Highway and has enough POWER to play with. I have the 6 speed stick for even MORE fun.
|
As others have said, I would also stay away from a flooded car. Electrical problems suck!
|
I say hell no! HUD is an absolute must!!

That's your take away from this? Don't buy a 2010 because there's no HUD? Gonna assume you're kidding! LOL |

Don't do it, 19k is way too high for a flood car IMO. It's bound to have troubles as you drive it. Stay away from that camaro.

I would run from it. There is no telling how much real damage occured until the problems start. There probably is no warranty, right? I can't see GM warranteeing a flooded car. He is giving you a lot for your trade but the price of the car is high. Go find another one that has not been compromised like this one.

Like everyone else said. I wouldn't do it my friend. No matter what financial situation you're in, seems like to much money to gamble with something like that. Even if it ran fine, resale would be impossible.
|
Well i guess i got my answer, nobody said go for it I guess I will keep looking for something else thanks to all that made comments, appreciate that Hope to find one soon
|
Just my .02 ..... way too much for a salvage titled car... way too much.
|
Hey let me throw this at you Will 2010 camaro wheels fit a 96 z
|
If GM would honor the power train and b2b warranties, it might be worth it. However, I doubt they would on a flood salvage.
|
This X 10!!! :bolt::bolt::bolt::bolt::bolt::bolt::bolt::bolt:
:idiot::idiot::idiot::idiot: I would avoid that thing like it was filled with plague rats or snakes. Not a shot and especially for $19 Grand. :emoticon17: |
I wouldn't.
|
Seriously. Stay away from this one. Not a good buy no matter what. Flood Damage is very serious in the automotive world. You will have problems with it for sure. Stay away... I saw a non flood damaged LS v-6 the other day for 20K (32.5K miles on it) with clean title. There are deals out there. Keep looking for a better car...
|
ok guys I got it am passing on it but really what would be too good to pass up
just a refresher: 2010 v6 2LT RS inferno leather 1800 miles Just asking |

A decent deal would be around 24-25 for the above car....without a salvage title of course with a salvage flood title, I'm not sure I would pay more than a couple thousand.... |
Ok guys thanks for the input

I'm glad you did not invest in that car. Congrats on your other purchase though!
|
Stay away from it.
Buy a Camaro with a clean title and let someone else with the money and know-how fix it if something goes wrong. I see you made a wise choice, grasshopper. :) |
