Anyone have garage fitment issues?

I'm apartment shopping...just curious whether if I see a garage offered, it's a given that the Camaro would fit? Obviously I'd test fir...but curious if I should be looking for a double or anything. Around Boston some of the places were built in the 20-60's and from the pics they look potentially tight.

Kinda it's tight in my 3rd car side with all my toolboxes and shelves

I actually measured our garage before buying the Camaro...

I think if I remember right it's 192 inches long

190.4 inches overall length, 75.5 inches overall width (per GM website....)

I live in an apartment with a garage and the only thing I had to watch out for was the width of the door. It's fine once you get in but I only have about 2 inches outside both side mirrors to make it in. Gotta be slow and careful for sure.

That dimension is with the doors closed. I'm a big guy, so to open the doors, to get in and out of the vehicle, you need to add another 24" (preferably 36") on at least one side. I always have to let my passenger get out BEFORE I pull into my garage. Length is no problem.

2 inches on each side? Wow, that has got to be tough. I have a problem with judging distances witn the Gen5 Camaro, can't see the fenders over the hood.

These Camaros are FAT, wide bodied cars. Thats why they handle so nice. On my first test drive I drove it to my house and pulled it into the garage to check it out. I have a curved driveway so it is really important not to try to turn while the front of the car is still in the garage. My wife has only scraped the front right fender against the garage door trim TWICE in 22 months. I tried to tell her that we really need 100% no brushing against the white garage door trim. I told her that maybe she should use the compass to be sure she is backing straight out since the car is headed straight north when its in the garage.

My house has a one car garage attached to the house and my G8 fits better in it then the Camaro did so I had a 24 x 30 garage built for the Camaro.

I would keep looking till I found an apartment with a garage big enough to accomodate. You plan on driving in winter or storing? Maybe they can get you a bigger garage for a few more bucks a mo. or if it is next to your apartment get a bigger one several down from your apartment. Guess it's on a case by case basis. Happy hunting!
