Anybody undo the F8 Exhaust Fuse Pull ?

I'm curious if anybody reinstalled the F8 Exhaust Fuse, and their reason. Was there a drone? Too loud? Neighbors? Warranty concerns?

I pulled the fuse a couple of months ago. No problems, sounds great. I see no reason to put it back in.

Pulled the fuse barely a week after owning the car. It's definitely not too loud and I can hear it while cruising but it's certainly not annoying :D

My neighbors are used to hearing loud cars in my driveway so that's not an issue.

Can you be more specific about warranty concerns? I can see them refusing to replace the valves/mufflers if anything broke on them but I seriously doubt preventing the valves to close would cause an issue with the mufflers that would require replacement.

I thought somebody might reinstall the fuse if they were afraid some warranty claim would not be honored. I'd have to hear from someone who reinstalled the fuse for that reason to learn if thy had a specific concern.

Seems like just about everybody who has pulled the fuse has never looked back :)

If I wanted to put it back I guess I would either have to find it or buy a new one, lol. I knew that would be a permanent mod.

I pulled it and I keep it in the center consol. I have no plans on putting it back. The only way I would is if my mufflers puked out their insides or something went wrong on the exhaust, which I dont anticipate.

pull it. its not nearly as big of change as say on c6 coupe. but thats just because this is exhaust is naturally louder. love it

Is there any performance gain from this mod or is it just for sound?

I purchased the wild to mild switch and I only leave it on wild. I would have saved some cash if I just pulled the fuse!

I actually put mine back in so the rest of the muffler batting would come out so I can get my mufflers warrantied. seems with the fuse out the batting does not come out as much

I put mine back in when I had KOOKS long tubes and cat deletes installed. It was just to loud to cruise around town. Had M2W switch installed instead

Does this work on a '12 SS? Or is it just for cars equipped with NPP Dual Mode exhaust?

Normagene 06-13-2013 05:48 AM

I went with the Mild to Wild switch. Push of a button on the remote and its back to factory settings. Honestly though, only time I ever went back to factory was when I showed somebody how it works/sounds. Otherwise I always have it WIDE OPEN!
