Anyone know how this is done?
Chemical Vapor Deposition?
Physical Vapor Deposition?
Anodizing?

Will it scratch with normal cleaning?
Are there any capable domestic suppliers? Not necessarily the wheels, but the finish?

I'm not a big wheel guy and never seen that before but i think it looks cool.

I've always wanted to know how they get the "black chrome" finish. I think these rim's look pretty cool too but would have to be on the right car. I don't think it would go with any car.

I agree, I would really think hard before putting those wheels on my car... might not be able to pull it off with the new camaro. But to each his own.

I have no clue how they get that finish, watch you should ask the manufacturer is if the wheel is clear coated... if that finish (however they do it) has a good layer of clear on it, you're good.

thats rice... seen that over a dozen times on over a dozen different hondas

It looks almost like it has been heated and left to cool after it discolored. Neat.

Yep, it's ricer big time. It's kinda cool, but on a new Camaro?

TaylorRyanSS 08-13-2009 05:43 PM

I have seen it on a few nissans and stuff and I think it looks hideous

Indpowr 08-13-2009 07:15 PM

I lot of bikes have that on there exhaust as well.

I love the look. I think on a black Camaro maybe but its not the look for me.

check out the Ford GT

This is PVD, this equipment is no joke, especially for parts this size.
CVD is even crazier. I'd get the whole car in Neo if I could. I'll put rice on the plates.
No, make that SSUSHI
