Pulling the Trigger on a Cam.

I'm thinking of getting a Cam for my L99. Doing some research i was going to get the VVT-3 with the AFM delete kit from Texas Speed and a 3200 or 3600 Stall. Is there anything else i might be missing or might need? Should i go with the VVT-4?

YES VVT4 or a rhino79 cam or GO HOME!

Some BTR platinum springs, a good stall from YANK/ Protorque/ precision, some GM lifters or the upgraded BTR SLR lifters (they'd help control your valves). Switch your L99 sS valves to Ls3 hollow intake valves and inconel exhaust valves.

if you are already into the heads might as well get them polished, ported and milled.

litle pretty much said it...get rid of the crap in the valve train your car will thank you.

I got the VVT-4 and AFM delete, worst decision I have ever made. I have just had so many problems. If you decide to go this way, just make sure you have someone knowledgeable in VVT like Rhino79
I wish I would have did more research before I had it done only option I have now is LS3 convert

Would this be all i need or is an LS3 conversion necessary?

If your keeping VVT no need to convert to Ls3.

im being told single bolt cam is kinda stupid what say you all?

litle88 07-04-2013 07:19 PM

You need it if your staying VVT, but ARP has the single bolt to use on the cam. If installed correctly you'll be fine. Tell them their stupid lol.
